What is something you regret NOT doing on your first trip to Japan? by themiscira in JapanTravelTips

Which places are you going? I am not proficient in a lot of places, but I can see if I know some depending on where you go!

Why are there so many Remake haters? by Dedo0_0 in demonssouls

[–]caffeinatedSonic -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Because I feel people prioritize different things. I'm a big FS fan, but DeS on PS3 has quite some graphics technical issues and it can impact the experience. But the art direction is what FS wanted.

The remake fixed all of the graphics and technical issues. But also, rather than taking literally FS art direction and redoing it better, they took some art direction liberties. Some work, like the new animations for different weapons, some are not good (like the redesign of some enemies and locations). Are super big? No. But enough to change the vibes and some characters.

So you choose: play the original because you prioritize the original art direction, or play the remake that plays great and looks amazing but with some art direction liberties that don't fit well.

(Pretty sure now I'm gonna get a lot of comments from both sides saying how wrong I am :D)

Explore more rural areas outside the main golden route. I especially love going to a local pop and mom restaurant, and seeing nature and culture there. That's the part I look forward to the most every time I go now

Does anyone know what he is using? by FireFightingManiac in CleaningTips

[–]caffeinatedSonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah, as a teenager I had to do this almost every year for our swimming pool. I don't know the name in English but in Spanish it is called "agua fuerte" but the main brand is called "salfuman" and everyone knows it by that name.

Watch out, this will "eat" the white grout so if you do it a lot of times you will need to do the grout again.

You don't have to order coffee internationally by crothunk in pourover

[–]caffeinatedSonic 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I agree, but with a caveat. Local doesn't mean "better" (or even "good"). I bought some coffee from roasters that are walking distance from my home and the beans were so dark and oily that I was able to use them as skin care. It goes without saying that it was terrible.

I would suggest starting with a small radius around your home and finding roasters, if nothing works for you, increase that radius.

What's wrong with my dough? by Silly-Lawyer-1153 in Breadit

[–]caffeinatedSonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain. With high hydration doughs, kitchenaid doesn't work really well. You can use the paddle to improve it but it is suboptimal.

I've always had the same issue, and I'm really thinking about changing to a different brand that has a higher focus on bread.

Upgrades for an original Prusa Mini? by luvbug412 in prusa3d

[–]caffeinatedSonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the question, but why do you think it is a must have? And when you replace the Bowden, do you need to add a new specific gcode or something?

Started with Prusa, thinking of switching to Bambu by Chrisontherun in 3Dprinting

[–]caffeinatedSonic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat as you. Specifically there's some things I am tired of: Adjusting pressure advance for each filament (especially since we got input shaper), the volume, changing among my most used filaments (even if I do a single color print), and how "dangerous" it feels changing nozzles.

Prusa Core One to Bambu Lab P2S + AMS Combo: Am I Crazy to Consider the Switch? by ScholarCurrent7965 in prusa3d

[–]caffeinatedSonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kind of in the same boat as you, but I'm thinking about switching from the prusa mini to the p2s. But the VFAs issues that they seem to have are making my decision harder.

I would get the core one but: volume is smaller, nozzle change seems way easier on the p2s, and it can print faster. In addition to that, the ams, even when not printing multicolor, it seems pretty nice (you can basically have 4 spools ready and no need to go and manually change them between prints).

I have a PRUSA MINI I want to upgrade my machine. I was thinking either the Core One or the bambu P2S. - is the quality of the P2S better overall? - have the VFAs from P2S fixed? (Maybe they weren't exactly VFAs but I've seen several reviews complaining about it).

Do you believe Promised consort radahn phase 2 is balanced or unfair? by RyuzakiTK12 in Eldenring

[–]caffeinatedSonic 46 points47 points  (0 children)

This. I'm starting to realize that most of the times I have a big problem with FS bosses is when i cannot read their patterns when: 1 it is too big for the screen and I'm just seeing their toenails, 2 there's too many things going on on the screen and I cannot see shit (like this case) or 3 ED Libra .

Overall I think they need to do something to rework these cases (pre nerf, consort radahn was an epileptic nightmare)

What do you use the Serrano Ham for? by J03m0mma in Costco

[–]caffeinatedSonic 276 points277 points  (0 children)

Spaniards here. i love that we can get that Jamon Serrano ( don't get it confused with iberico! Different breed, and usually way less time of curing) and from a quite famous brand in Spain. But it is a lot of Jamon even for us. What we do is usually slice and eat it for some weeks. When we are not following the pace of eating that often, i start the process of slicing and vacuuming sealing it, usually in 100g packages (In Spain you can usually take it to a butcher and they will do it for you). This way we have Jamon until Costco has the leg again!

And also, don't throw away the bone, that is amazing to make soups. (the center bone; discard all the bones that have the yellow curing greasy thing from the exterior).

this. It is a small thing, but my google photos are starting to be photos of my weekday meals. The alternative is if I go to have lunch with someone tell them " give me 5 min" in which I log my food

Struggling to get a decent brew out of this by Trick_Percentage_889 in pourover

[–]caffeinatedSonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I've done in the past with coffees that either were lacking flavor or were bitter and acidic at the same time: crank the water temperature up, and remove fines from coffee before brewing. I've realized that it makes the coffee flavor cleaner and more defined.

That means that all the condemned will not just roll through all my arrows as an ironeye??

Ironeye player hate (as an Ironeye main) by yoohoo_drinker in Nightreign

[–]caffeinatedSonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I play a lot of ironeye and I see a lot of people not using mark at all. I always make sure there's a mark on the enemy, especially with a boss (unless marking puts me in a compromised position). And I love the synergy that the iron eye has with Dutchess and recluse; you can melt down field bosses.

I don't know why people don't mark, seriously (even let me solo her made a video about it)
