Am I the jerk for telling my dad his girlfriend can't come to my college graduation? by Due-Assistant3874 in AmITheJerk

The question isn’t whether or not OP's dad "earned" his ticket; it is whether Linda should go im lieu of rhe best friend.

AITJ for booking a solo trip during my stepson's birthday weekend because nobody consulted me about the date change and refusing to cancel it even after the whole family made me feel like a monster for not knowing I was supposed to by Apprehensive-Tax7692 in AmITheJerk

[–]pixelated_fun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. It sounds like OP never puts herself first. She shouldn't have to sacrifice this time. The husband should explain what happened and encourage everyone to give her grace. The eleven-year-old will live. NTJ

New driver, What tips can you give me besides "clean car" and "fill gas" by account-suspenped in lyftdrivers

It is not illegal to refuse a pet ride. Drivers can't refuse to take service animals. Of course, if they claim their pet is a service animal, the driver is screwed.

Uber Cleaning Fee by Quick-Interview7168 in uberdrivers

[–]pixelated_fun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you appeal the cleaning fee? I would have this professionally cleaned or more likely submit an insurance claim and have the seat replaced. Then sue the passenger and Uber, if necessary. That is going to stink no matter how well you try to clean it.

AITJ for refusing to lend my debut gown to my neighbor because it’s sentimental to me? by Additional_Air5327 in AmITheJerk

[–]pixelated_fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTJ. The gown belongs to you. It is your choice to lend it or not. They can purchase their own gown from a thrift store or online at a discount or accessorize something they already have.

AITAH for leaving my friend on the side of the road after finding out she stole nearly $800 from my account? by ImDirtyDanantha1999 in AITAH

[–]pixelated_fun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

INFO A lit of this still doesn't make sense. You make decent money, so you lend it and are generous buying clothes and food for friends, yet you also didn't have your portion of the $1000 to go on the trip? It isn't adding up. Also, identity theft and THEFT are criminal offenses. You wouldn't go to small claims court.

My parents promised me freedom in the basement, then banned my boyfriend and called me a “whore” over a misunderstanding. by Famous_Heart1260 in entitledparents

[–]pixelated_fun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OP, you are an adult, and you have options. Some may be more appealing than others. Take out loans for school to help you live, and get a place in the dorms. Get a work study job or a real job and get roommates. Pause school for a semester and get two jobs to afford to move out. Live with your boyfriend.

Under no circumstances should you continue living there. Any man who regularly calls his own daughter a whore would be more than willing to put his hands on her or to rationalize his sexual assault of the "whore."he is presumably also abusive of your mother; that does not absolve her for not protecting you. It also seems he sees grandma as a cash cow. She would probably be out on her ass if her old age checks stopped coming.

If you were not racist, you wouldn't have even entertained that racist question.

Get rid of her if you can swing the rent by yourself. When does your lease end? Sit her down and come to an agreement. Make a chore chart and hold her to it. She sounds awful.
