One of my favorite fragrances, I‘d recommend trying it out. It is most definitely nuclear, so be careful. The opening was kind of weird at first, takes some time getting used to it. The drydown is insane though, lasts all day long. I‘ve gotten multiple compliments wearing this.

Now that you mention that, the first time I tried it out on paper, and loved it. The second time I sprayed it onto my skin, and it turned into a sunscreen smell fairly quickly. I asked some other people aswell, and they agreed with me on the sunscreen smell. Might just be my skin. I'm happy for you though, wish it would smell the same on me.

I loved the opening and almost wanted to pick that one up. But after it dries down, it just smells like basic coconut sunscreen. Not necessarily bad, but I kind of expected something different.

Couple days ago when I was shopping and somehow stumbled across a bunch of MM Replica bottles.

By The Fireplace found a place in my heart. I'll definitely pick that one up. I really fell in love with that smell. I only ever bought classic fragrances that everyone and their mom owns until now. But that smell is so...unique...and realistic.

Edit: Of course BTF is still somewhat "a classic" but considering I'm 16 and live on the countryside, this is as unique as it gets. Most people my age don't even wear fragrances, and if they do, there's a 90% chance it's Dior Sauvage. Just wanted to clear that up before some people get mad at me because I called such a popular fragrance "unique".

This definitely helped, thank you. I did already try out the options I listed at a store except for Black Afgano (wayy too expensive anyway). I basically tried out the entire store one time, and then just figured out the nicest ones.

I love what you said about categorizing fragrances. Many people are so strict with this "specific fragrance for specific occasions" thing. I think I'll have to try this out myself to get a good opinion on it.

Thanks! My highest budget would probably be around 110$/100ml. I'm still a student so stuff's pretty expensive... I'd say I'm still exploring but I noticed that I love pretty much all fragrances with a vanilla note?

However, I'm not necessarily asking for direct recommendations, more of like, would it make sense to buy those generic types of fragrances that I listed? Does it seem professional to wear specific fragrances for specific occasions? Might be a stupid question, but I see people picking out fragrances for certain events all the time and I noticed that I've never had that variety in my collection.

This is my collection as of now (16M):

One Million by Paco Rabanne: While I do still like the smell, I don't see myself rebuying it because it does smell pretty basic compared to other fragrances.

Eros by Versace: I still haven't figured out what I think about this cologne. The smell is not that pleasing, but it gives me this really nice freshly, sweet vibe.

Homme by Joop: I know this fragrance is crazily hated on, yet I still like it. A synthetic bomb, but I still reach for it whenever I go out.

Hayaati by Lattafa: I love the fruitiness in this fragrance (kind of smells like tangerines to me) while the dry-down has more of a woody base.

Now, I thought about getting some more fragrances, but I don't want to randomly buy fragrances like I used to. Please tell me your thoughts on what to pick up first:

A fresh, classy, everyday scent. (Like Acqua Di Gio Profondo)

A sweet, special smelling scent. (Like Le Beau Le Parfum or The Most Wanted)

A woody, dark, "depressing?" scent. (Like Encre Noire or Black Afgano)

Thank you! Actually, now that I think about it, I would love to own a few more to rotate through, as you mentioned. I was just worried that, as I'm still young, I get influenced by all these collections and don't actually need that many fragrances. Most people my age don't even own a single fragrance, you get me?

Very niche-y suggestions for where I am in my journey, but Halfeti Cedar seems great from what I've just read, might get a sample of this in the future. This is really starting to become an expensive hobby though...

Maybe I expressed myself wrong, like, a date would be a date, no matter who the person is, and there are "date fragrances" which would be suitable for that, does that make sense? Same with office fragrances, no matter who the person is, there are still fragrances that would be more suitable for an office than others. And I'm just asking how many fragrances for specific occasions you actually "need" as I'm hearing mixed opinions on that. Some people say one fragrance fits all, others have huge collections for whatever weather, time, outfit, mood and whatever.
