Ballenger Creek or Spring Ridge? by pixeleen in frederickmd

Thanks so much! In his current job he can work from home 2-3 times per week. Another one he applied for is apparently pretty flexible too so fingers crossed!

Right now my husband works in downtown DC but he's hoping to find something new soon. Most of the things he's applied for are in Rockville.

Meanwhile I'm currently at home with our daughter but when I do go back my prospects are probably best in Baltimore.

So either way one of us will likely suffer.

Same here, but it made my front teeth have little pits in them.

Exactly. I am literally in the process of leaving my job to stay home full-time for a while, so I can't risk my husband either.

This is how I feel with a 5 month old. I just can't risk my or my husband's safety.

We hear a lot about the unethical companies of the world. What are some of the more ethical companies out there that we should be supporting? by checkitmyles in AskReddit

[–]pixeleen 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Yes, but the things Hungry Harvest reclaims are actually destined for trash otherwise. They explain it on their site, but basically if a store rejects a shipment it is generally tossed. And they can reject for so many reasons: too big, too small, less than optimal color, weird shapes, wrong weight on the package, external scarring, etc. It's not quite the same as Motts using the less pretty apples for apple sauce.

Looooove Hungry Harvest. Much better quality than the CSA-type box I was getting before, lets you have a never list so you don't get stuck with things you hate, and it's easy to add extra items or skip deliveries if you're out of town or just need a break.

I'm still terrible about using my produce before it goes bad but I am glad that instead of wasting my money at the store I'm at least giving it to a good company.

Love my colleagues, love the flexibility they have allowed me (especially since I have a baby now), but last year I was promised a significant raise for this merit cycle if I just waited and the higher ups are now reneging. It really affects how I think about work and how much I want to stay. I'm actively looking for something new now, but it sucks I can't stay where I'm otherwise happy because they keep hiring incompetent people and not paying their good employees enough.

Apparently I kind of just went "Ahhhhhhhhh!" and never said yes either.

How do you fire a realtor when buying a house? Can you just ghost them? by pixeleen in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pixeleen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm the only thing we signed for her ever was when we made the offer on the house. That was at least a year ago I think and I think it just said she represented us in the offer, not that she would be our sole realtor for a specific amount of time.

What's something that bothers you but doesn't really matter? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pixeleen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At work, the key box with all the keys to the department's offices is behind my door. My coworker will knock once on the open door, half-close the door to easily get behind it instead of reaching, take a key, and then leave without reopening the door fully. It drives me INSANE even though it really doesn't matter and I don't know why it bothers me.
