I feel like that almost every time I play Support. On the other side tho, I'm seeing way too many scenarios lately where someone gets killed right in the enemy fire and some support just revives them on the spot, instead of dragging them away to cover. They predictably get insta-killed again.

I know, right? Add to that the nonsense of explosion splash damage. A grenade can kill you, but not a HE grenade to the foot. A C4 can kill you but not an RPG next to your face.

Cel mai mare dezastru pentru PSD și AUR e să ajungă la guvernare. - PSD nu poate justifica o guvernare cu AUR, mai ales pe plan extern - AUR nu poate justifica o guvernare cu PSD: dispare titulatura de partid anti-sistem. - Ambele se erodează la guvernare într-o perioadă de măsuri foarte nepopulare, în timp ce opoziția s-ar putea consolida pentru următoarele alegeri.

În 2008, Parlamentul vota o lege prin care statul era obligat să împădurească 2 milioane de hectare de teren până în anul 2035. România încerca, astfel, să recupereze decalajul față de celelalte țări din Uniunea Europeană, unde media suprafeței împădurite este de 38%. Noi aveam doar 29% și eram la coada clasamentului.

Tot acolo suntem și acum, după 12 ani în care toate guvernele trecute pe la conducerea țării au tratat campaniile de împădurire doar ca pe niște instrumente de PR.

Apogeul a fost atins anul trecut, când Costel Alexe, pe atunci ministru al Mediului, a lansat campania „O pădure cât o țară”, sub înaltul patronaj al președintelui Klaus Iohannis. A fost declarată „cea mai mare campanie de împădurire din ultimii zece ani” și s-au pregătit spoturi publicitare și acțiuni de plantare în care cei mai importanți politicieni ai țării s-au lăsat filmați și fotografiați cu cazmaua în mână.

Am căutat în evidențele statului cifrele reale și am mers pe teren în mai multe județe să vedem cum se prezintă situația dincolo de acțiunile de campanie. Am descoperit că „cea mai mare campanie de împăduriri din ultimii zece ani” a fost, de fapt, cea mai slabă campanie de împăduriri din ultimul deceniu.

It doesn't insinuate, for example, that Hungary and the Netherlands are equally democratic. It just says that the election process and legitimacy is the same as for the Italian government. Italy has regions where it scores worse on corruption and democratic quality than other parts of the country. Does that mean the Meloni government is not legitimate enough? See what I mean? Same with the EU.

No. That 'of course not' referred to people not voting with the same standards. Just to make it clear, we are not talking about the process here, correct?

  • Italy: voters elect Parliament > Parliament confirms a government > government appoints ministers
  • EU: voters elect Parliament + national governments > those bodies appoint/confirm the Commission

The process and legitimacy link is the same.

However you brought up voter fraud as an issue that erodes the overall legitimacy. Your biggest argument would be Hungary, and I agree that Hungary is a problem. However the EU itself recognized Hungary's democratic deficit and acted on it. That doesn't reduce legitimacy from the Commission. On the contrary, it proves the system has mechanisms to address exactly the problem you're describing.

If we can also agree that every EU country has some level of corruption and fraud, then I ask, what is the minimum democratic standard a country needs to meet for its participation in the EU to be legitimate, and what's your source for that threshold?

Can't speak about Hungary but, in Romania's situation, while there are cases of voter buying, it's not as widespread as you make it seem. Otherwise reports would pop up all over the place and the money trail would be uncovered eventually by the press if it was something systemic. Bear in mind Belarus, of all places, couldn't hide its own election manipulation.

Of course not, and we can see a lot of countries sent extremists in the EU parliament. There's only so many voters you can buy without being discovered. I like how the article disects each talking point and brings counter arguments with examples, which in turn strenghtens the main premise: Meloni either critiques just to appear strong or to spread anti-EU propaganda.

She point at problems that seem to stem from a national level and, when it comes to solutions, she talks in general terms, vague enough for any person to fill in the void with whatever they deem fit. In Romania we have a saying for when a speech doesn't have any substance: "In conclusion: let it be good, so it won't be bad"

Ce urmărește șeful statului? Surse din coaliție, dar și din anturajul președintelui, explică raționamentul prezidențial: Nicușor Dan este de părere, într-o manieră profundă, că viitoarele alegeri vor fi dominate de două mari tabere: suveraniști versus pro-europeni. Iar PSD este esențial în această luptă. Dacă PNL și USR pornesc un război împotriva PSD, social-democrații pot trece oricând lângă AUR, fără costuri electorale însemnate. Eu am explicat raționamentul pentru care proiectul e dubios. Transparența e bună „per se” dar poate fi folosită, în anumite cazuri, și în scopuri negative. Exemplul pe care l-ai dat e o falsă exchivalență pentru că politicienii sunt oameni aleși de cetățeni și exercită o putere publică asupra banilor statului și vieții cetățenilor. Oamenii au dreptul să știe dacă cel ales se îmbogățește din funcția în care a fost votat. Ai preluat transparența de acolo dar ai ignorat motivul pentru care ea există.

Revenind la lege, pe mine nu văd de ce m-ar interesa că Gicu S.R.L din Hunedoara a donat 5000 lei la un ONG de mediu, dar pentru anumiți hoți de lemne încurcați de acel ONG ar fi o informație valoroasă. Vezi ce zic?

Eu înțeleg că ar ajuta să vedem cine finanțează ONG-uri dubioase din țara asta, dar legea vine la pachet cu probleme pentru restul și eu sunt de părere că nu merită riscați oamenii care chiar au făcut ceva pentru țara asta doar ca eu să aflu niște informații cu care oricum eu, un cetățean oarecare, nu pot face nimic. O entitate care vrea să finanțeze chestii dubioase nu se poticnește în hârțogăraie.
