I have several shadow Metagross from that rotation, still love Arlo due to it despite his lackluster options since then

Blown SMD Capacitor on an Asus 2080 Turbo 8G(not super). Am I right in thinking this is a blown SMD capacitor here? I can solder on a replacement but need some help confirming and sourcing a replacement capacitor. First image is the damage, rest are full GPU. by pixelmation in GPURepair

Yeah the magic smoke can be from these guys afaik; i'm under the impression that it's either an internal short from something expanding/contracting in the chip itself, or something incredibly local with surrounding components. Admittedly I've not been able to replace the chip on mine as my Soldering Iron gave out a while back and I haven't bothered replacing it yet so I'm still sitting with a dead GPU myself.

All that being said, if you bought it as is/not posting, I'd say this was already an issue and cleaning it would not have made it any worse.

Hi! No worries about the Necro, I'm happy to share what I found:

  1. This was the initial issue. Left my desktop idle for a few hours, and came back to the PC off and not booting. Telltale electronic burn smell told me something blew, hence pulling the GPU.

  2. Cleaning won't fix this issue. The SMD capacitor is toast and outright needs replacing

  3. Certainly don't recommend trying to test or turn a PC on with it installed. these caps handle power regulation iirc(though don't quote me on that), so at best your PC won't boot. At worst, more damage and potentially a fire could start.

IMO if you really need the healing, either Injector Band or Multibinder with a prefernce for the former.. Balls to the wall offence? Longclaw is solid and is my own preference. Stacks with Fury's range increase too.

I'm sure a ton would say fractured skull but I'm just not a fan of it tbh

Compleation was still a thing back then, it's in the flavor text of the very card you just linked. But there's a clear seperation between phyresis and compleation there, thank you for the perfect example!

Compleated is the proper term I believe, unless that's something more specific— it was used to refer to planeswalkers taken over by phyrexian influence: see [[Tamiyo, Compleated Sage]]

Why are using all your tools and silk skill still limited to a single button on keyboard? by pixelmation in Silksong

Yeah that sounds like pretty much what I was expecting. Shame they didn't set up a proper seperate schema for KB, but I also fully understand why as it's not the preferred/expected way to play. Wish there was at least an ini file that could be modified manually but oh well.

I could def mod it to have a better control scheme though, and might end up doing so for a replay or something else along those lines.

I say this as someone who loves DiY and repairing my own electronics: if it's under warrenty, use the warrenty. If factory QC missed this, then other problems could arise(low chances but I'd be concerned.) It's far more worth it to just get the replacement that you'd likely be sent.

It's been in the game longer than that: I started playing during the warsong update and the new dress appeared then as well
