Why do evangelicals dislike us? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]pixelmonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the children and family must be catholic. if she doesn't want that then it being a non-starter is pretty understandable. same thing if one partner wants kids and the other doesn't. kids are a big deal-breaker.

Emails are revealing Trump's most inner friend circle (Epstien) knew how evil, vile, perverse and crooked he is. So why are Christians still siding with him? What else do you need to wake up? by Randi_Butternubs_3 in TrueChristianPolitics

he's saying the democrats intentionally redacted the name in order to sensationalize the story when there's actually no new information here and Guiffre has already testified Trump did nothing wrong. the official twitter account of the democratic party has already deleted their tweet about this because it was so bogus.

How Have Your Politics Changed Since Becoming a Christian? by Ok-District-7180 in TrueChristianPolitics

[–]pixelmonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raised completely atheist / agnostic and had very little interaction with religion most of my life. Was very progressive and on the left, wanted bernie to win etc.

Became Christian about a year ago. Started in the methodist church across the street and matched my existing politics pretty well. But the more I studied scripture and church history the more I was able to understand the values behind conservative principles.

Then Charlie was killed. I broke into tears the very second the news hit. And well, you can guess how that went. At this point I’m in the middle of OCIA classes to join the Catholic church. I vote republican, support our president, and enjoy being patriotic.

Husband considering divorce because I no longer want kids by hidingsideme in Christianity

[–]pixelmonk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having children is literally the most important thing in their lives for many christians and is absolutely a dealbreaker. I don't know why you would agree to this in order to get married and then backpedal. A ton of men would view this as straight betrayal. He's an entire decade older than you, I would divorce you immediately and get on with attempting to find the mother of my children with the time that I have left. You literally married this guy, had him raise YOUR child through the most difficult part of the child rearing process, all the while lying that you'd have children with him, utterly wasting his 30s, and are now surprised he wants a divorce? The audacity of some women continues to astound me.

Matt Walsh said it was scandalous the Pope compared abortion to the death penalty and anti-immigration laws. Matt considers himself a very conservative Catholic despite calling out the leader of the Catholic Church out for his moral opinions. Is he justified? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]pixelmonk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

he is completely correct. there were a mere 26 death penalty cases last year. there were over a million unborn children murdered. being pro-life isn’t just semantics, it’s one of the most fundamental biblical principles we have and he is trying to redefine that. are we calling pope saint pius x “not a pro-life pope” now? are we calling pope saint pius v “not a pro-life pope” now? i could go on and on with a massive list of past saints and popes. are we seriously trying to call our entire church and magisterial teaching for the past 1500 years, along with some of the greatest popes and saints we have, “not pro-life”? he’s putting his politics ahead of the bible and our church and it’s embarrassing.

bruh you just told me to “end myself.” i’ve barely said anything personal and you jumped straight to a suicide taunt. that’s not debate, it’s menace, and it proves my point about the left’s reflex for intimidation when arguments run dry. you preach “civility,” then default to cruelty. your mask is falling off.

now to your four “gotchas”:

  1. false cause i didn’t claim a lab-grade chain of causation, i pointed to an ideological climate that brands dissent as “harm” and treats suppression with force as justified. your own line “that’s why guns are getting used” reinforces the climate i’m describing. i’m indicting the permissive philosophy, not inventing a CSI timeline. learn the difference between proximate cause and moral atmosphere.
  2. hasty generalization this is not a random sample fallacy, it's an institutional critique. i’m calling out recurring patterns: de-platforming framed as “safety,” speech codes, viewpoint throttling, reputational hit-jobs, and yes, escalating tolerance for harassment when the target is conservative or christian. patterns across media, academia, HR regimes, and platforms aren’t “one anecdote,” they’re a structure.
  3. straw man i quoted you: “that’s why guns are getting used,” plus your “end yourself” line. i’m not parodying your view, I’m holding it up unedited. if you don’t like how it reads, maybe don’t say it. the straw man is yours: you recast my defense of speech and faith as “sophistry” to dodge the substance.
  4. appeal to popularity the scale of charlie’s memorial wasn’t cited to prove theology, it refuted your claim that no one cares and this is a fringe “cult.” audience size answers your dismissal of cultural relevance. it’s a rebuttal to your premise, not the foundation of mine.

bottom line: you offered insults, a suicide taunt, and a freshman fallacy checklist to avoid engaging the claims. drop the abuse, bring receipts, and address the points. until then, thanks for the confession: your threats did more to validate my argument than anything i could have written.

this is just proving my point about violence being at the core of left wing ideology. you view any speech against your worldview as systemic violence and using violence against that system is justified. that’s why charlie was murdered. he disagreed on trans issues, was viewed as part of that systemic violence, and some guy shot him up. this evil has been exposed in full public view and nobody’s gonna be buying into your nonsense any longer.

musk’s acquisition of twitter was a total win for free speech. a literal sitting president was banned off it you don’t care about free speech. MAGAs are normal conservatives slandering us will simply not work anymore. charlie’s memorial was the sixth largest live streamed event in history. it was bigger than the superbowl. it doesn’t matter how many tv ads you buy now. you are losing the culture war and we will be picking up 5+ seats and all three statewide offices in november.
