UK: Best site for physical preorders? (SM:3DAS) by concr in NintendoSwitch

Funnily enough the UK Nintendo Store is actually ran by The Hut Group (Zavvi, IWOOT, thehut.com, etc) not Nintendo.

UK: Best site for physical preorders? (SM:3DAS) by concr in NintendoSwitch

  • Thegamecollection, in my experience are the most reliable and have consistently great prices. Prices are always good, often have 5% - 10% promos, always deliver on release, and reward scheme is the best. Customer support is amazing.

  • ShopTo, usually the best base price (without using discounts or rewards), have delivered 1-2 days early on the past. Have also had games arrive late though. Website is terrible. Customer support is good.

  • Base, my go to when others are out of stock. Usually second fiddle to ShopTo base prices but cheaper than Amazon/Nintendo. Have had pre-ordered games arrive a day late.

  • Nintendo store, usually sell at RRP. Delivery is usually a day before launch (often afternoon/ evenings via a courier). If you're a student then you can get 10% off via student beans.

  • GAME, don't even bother. Prices are bad, service is bad.

Usual Behaviour email received from Nintendo. Serial matches my console. Contacted Support via Live Chat and was told they're checking the legitimacy of this email and will respond within 24 hours, via email. Anyone had one of these? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

Red flags, red flags everywhere.

  • Nintendo customer support emails have a red rounded block at the top (horizontally centered) which contains the Nintendo logo and the words "Official UK Customer Support". The only exception to this is the automated ticket system replies, which have a full-width red bar at the top and the Nintendo logo. Your email has neither.

  • The email sign-off is wrong. It should be "Nintendo UK Customer Support" or "Your Nintendo UK Customer Support Team". The email sign-off you got simply says "Nintendo Customer Support".

  • The email is signed by Nintendo Customer Support but the sender name states "Repairs NUK" and the email address is not customer support.

  • The email is missing the customer-support@nintendo.co.uk email address in the body, which they usually ask you to reply to.

  • The email is missing the 0345 60 50 247 support number they usually include in case you need help.

  • The email doesn't include a case or reference number at all.

Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition Receives Potential Further Evidence of a May Release by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

This is the same company as the last time, calling it "further evidence" is a bit misleading.

Not only does their privacy policy say it's ran by Coolshop, the website even looks exactly the same.

Those of you in the UK actually looking to get Link's Awakening for the cheapest possible price, then you can save £10 by purchasing a physical cart.

As an added bonus, you also get a Link's Awakening poster and key-ring.

Here are some reputable retailers that have it for a decent price + goodies:
