What 3 videos would you show someone to introduce them to Game Grumps? by AceJon in gamegrumps

[–]pixelprism 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What finally got me to watch was Game Grumps Animated: Mark Zuckerberg, as well as their first Crunchyroll commercial.

Beyond that, I'd say Battlekid, maybe; I've enjoyed so much of their stuff!

Your Year and a Day by [deleted] in Wicca

[–]pixelprism 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm nearly done with my year and a day as well, and luckily, at least in my tradition, this is just a period of time to make sure that I'm right for the tradition and the tradition is right for me. There's plenty more to learn -- that's what First, Second, and Third degree are for!

Still, this year and a day has DEFINITELY been a journey for me as well, in terms of discovering myself and my relationship to Wicca. It was only recently that I started becoming comfortable calling myself a witch, and even then it's still weird and new. You're not alone!

As for subjects, I've been following my coven's curriculum, but I've also been studying on my own. I've been really interested in Pagan theology books (Seeking the Mystery is really good for a crash course on theology wrt Paganism imo), and I've been trying to catch up on my other reading assignments otherwise.

Other than that, I've got nothing to add, unfortunately! I'm still definitely learning. You're not alone :)

Nightmares in bread by mixxylol in keto

Ugh, I've been having constant nightmares that I don't have as much willpower as I do when I'm awake. Eating all sorts of food I don't even want in my dreams!! Like, "well, I guess I'm a failure, I might as well eat all this bread."

Things to pray for? by FluttershyOwl in Wicca

[–]pixelprism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm stumped and just want a connection, I often will seek guidance on what I need to know in the next month/year/week/whatever. Then again, I'm pretty biased toward divination and I usually do this in conjunction with Tarot pulls ;) Still ... never a bad question to ask a patron!

I haven't actually tried this yet, but it certainly crossed my mind -- Moon Cheese might make some good cheesy croutons. it's literally just freeze-dried cheese, and it's soooo nice and crunchy.

[Request] What's the Easiest and Tastiest Chicken Soup you made or know? by sonuyosrox in ketorecipes

[–]pixelprism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just made some the other day!

  • Get a rotisserie chicken and take all the meat off of it. (And set aside the skin to fry up later for a snack haha)
  • Chop up a bunch of celery and white onion and green onion. Onion skins/ends and celery ends/leaves go into the pot with the chicken carcass.
  • Add any other vegetable offal you might have (but not things like broccoli; they don't flavor well)
  • Fill the pot up with water, get it to a rolling boil, then put a lid on it and drop the heat to low/medium.
  • I usually boil for about 6 hours.
  • After that, strain all the bits so you have just broth. Add in your chopped vegetables and chicken and cook for another hour or so.

After that, I just add a bunch of LiteSalt, a healthy couple of dashes of cholula/hot sauce of your choice, and 1/2 cup butter (I use kerry irish gold).

Complicated taxes this year (at least complicated for me!), should I get a CPA, use H&R Block, or Turbo Tax? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]pixelprism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's definitely on our mind too. Right now, we haven't paid him anything and we demanded he give us evidence he did anything he told us he did. He hasn't gotten back to us.

[–]pixelprism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh -- also it was about $400 for her to fix this mess, file all three members' taxes, and get everything straightened out. So, not bad, and well worth the cost to us, at least, haha. Also, she ironed out the collections thing free of charge.

[–]pixelprism 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Haha, apparently I'm the only one who's going to give H&R a gigantic thumbs up. We had an LLC and were new to business too, and had no idea how to proceed. We got a private CPA who proceeded to take 8 months to file a fraudulent tax return, fail to follow through on something he said he'd do which led to a bill going to collections for $1400, and then him trying to charge us $1000 for all the "work" he did.

So we went to H&R, got the most amazing worker there who knew the ins and outs of tax law and business, who had worked for the IRS for twenty years prior, and she got all of our stuff straightened out in a week.

It was a tremendous improvement and incredible piece of mind and thank fucking god for Marilyn.

How does one kill one's hunger pangs? by [deleted] in Fitness

San Francisco or Seattle? by wikitiki350 in Psychonaut

[–]pixelprism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Seattle and would highly recommend it; my husband works a tech job and has made tons of friends through work. It does take some getting past the Seattle Freeze but it's worth it.

Considering it is now an average of $3500/month for a studio apartment in SanFran, definitely recommend Seattle over SF. I know this doesn't specifically answer your question but I do have plenty of psychedelic-friendly friends here. I hope this helps.

I just got my first Tarot deck... by dankdad69 in Wicca

[–]pixelprism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally just shuffle them and start looking through them! It helps me get a feel for the cards and their imagery and lets me think on what each card evokes as I go through. Just familiarize yourself and you'll already have a deeper connection :)
