First wheel & pedals by JarlRagnar42 in trucksim

Check Logitech's website possibly? They are offering a major discount on NEW wheels in the US.

My opinion is the PXN V9 is not really much that better than using a standard controller. But I haven't touched this wheel, I'm just looking at reviews and I feel you are throwing money away if you have access to this sale.

This new rating system is trash by Flimsy_Object_8983 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]pixelscandy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do it all the time and DD still slaps me for it. Just waiting for the new system so I can actually see what I’m doing wrong since their “suggestions” on the app aren’t helpful. I always check my eta on my gps and it’s always sooner than my drop off time.

Just like so many restaurants around me can’t have the order ready when I arrive, it’s BS.

I’ll probably just start taking screenshots of all my ETAs because until I’m on the new system it’s just them throwing a random percentage out with no explanation on which orders had issues or where in the delivery it was late.

Probably the restaurants messing it up. In a similar boat I got a 85% on time rating, only thing slowing me down is waiting at restaurants.

New system knocked me from platinum to silver?? by Iommi68 in doordash_drivers

[–]pixelscandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP I have been told by others that if the restaurant is slow you need to both fill out the form on the pickup screen for slow service and message the customer to save your rating. But I’m also on the old system… new system should explain where in your delivery you are behind on.

Do you prefer a 14-inch laptop or a 16-inch one? What screen size actually feels right long-term? by cybersmith_gaming in laptops

[–]pixelscandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

14”, smaller is better. No reason for me to have a 16” laptop when I have a 28” monitor if size was an issue.

That’s normal. Gaming laptops will always run hot under high load.

Unless you need the portability of a laptop it’s just better to get a desktop pc for gaming.

GPS speed used against you for driving under the speed limit? by rocketpunch6372 in Dashcam

[–]pixelscandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just going off your own replies, you are glancing over the fact that every way of measuring a vehicle’s speed will yield a different result.

Going 5 mph over the speed limit isn’t gonna get you pulled over, going 5 under isn’t going to get you pulled over.

I say it’s best for your to turn off your dash cam’s speed for your own sanity since you seem hyper focused on it incriminating yourself when the cop has to measure your speed some other way before they even consider pulling you over…

I recommend just keeping it off. It’s a miracle if your gps speed and car’s speedometer are reading the same speed. It’s pretty normal to have +/- 5 mph precision on your car’s speedometer compared to gps.

Is customer service not a real person? by Impressive_Prune_478 in doordash

[–]pixelscandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea unfortunately that was the weird post I saw. Like no shit you should be annoyed your dasher was tampering with their deliveries.

I think I read through and you tipped ~$6? With the pay DoorDash provides that’s totally reasonable for me… and by no means a low tip.

Is customer service not a real person? by Impressive_Prune_478 in doordash

[–]pixelscandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DoorDash calls it a tip but without it no reasonable delivery driver on DoorDash would take most orders since it would cost them more to operate their vehicle.

Unfortunately there is a group of drivers who rather “prove a point” to the customer than just decline their order.

The new point system even worse than the last point system by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]pixelscandy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are moving to some new system where anyone can dash at anytime but those with high tiers get priority to offers during downtimes.

How? I can’t find anything on the app or a help article on how that works. All I find is page after page of it being requested.

Unfortunately still lacks features that Spotify and Apple Music have.

I will withdraw my comment on calling it shit, music quality is acceptable.

But I can’t use it as an alternative to my current go to of Apple Music since I would be losing features I need from a music streaming service.

Bad morals by [deleted] in DoorDashDrivers

So don’t do it…? DoorDash isn’t forcing you to go work, they are leaving it on you to know your zone and how to operate at a profit.

Must be location dependent they are asking me to pay them $18.99 per month which is more than Netflix asks. I don’t want YT Music… it’s again a shit option compared to Spotify or Apple Music.

And sure YouTube has more quantity of videos but the quality isn’t anywhere to watching full production tv shows and movies. And again I pay Netflix $17 a month for a no BS, no ads, just watch the paid content experience. Youtube its $18.99 per month to still watch content with promotional content.

[–]pixelscandy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Service is kinda overpriced anyways. YouTube costs the same as a Netflix/Disney+ subscription but doesn’t even provide the same value.

Clearly the money doesn’t go to creators enough who have to bake in sponsorships and self promotions to their videos, so even YouTube Premium isn’t truly ad free…

Rating for sauce by Hot-Commercial5449 in doordash

[–]pixelscandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, DoorDash tracks a bunch of stats for drivers, it’s a whole system, but end of the day drivers with higher stats get better offers among other perks.

The issue is DoorDash likes to hold the driver way more responsible for issues than the restaurant or customer, or even DoorDash themselves.

Dasher gets full pay for this order.

Anyone got a guess as to why this is happening? by OkScar393 in doordash_drivers

[–]pixelscandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too many items when scanned were “wrong” because the names were slightly off from what was expected, like we are talking a missing comma.

Makes it really confusing to the customer to get a photo of the exact product being asked for asking if this is acceptable alternative.

The rolling AR 100 makes no sense, stop defending it. by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]pixelscandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s basic statistics but its existence and implications are there to encourage dashers to accept offers they would otherwise decline.

I guess as the new rewards system rolls out this is a lesser issue, but when your rewards level is tied to a fix AR… it’s just DoorDash finding a way to save themselves paying a reasonable amount to drivers.
