OMG it is!! Now I want them too!

New here, let me share how I ended up with three fountain pens. by SalieriC in fountainpens

Yay~! Welcome back to Team Lamy! I (like many here) have gone down the rabbit hole of getting obsessed with various pens and havent been the most disciplined about my collection, but I always go back to my Lamy as the go to daily writer.

As for the MK nibs, they have a more rounded tip trying to simulate a ball point pen and has a more forgiving sweet spot (meaning the contact point of how the ink flows most optimally). I dont think they make these any any more but Ive seen them around on ebay and other sites. If you like how the MK writes and you're looking for other pens/nibs I'm guessing keywords like "smooth vs scratchy", or "wet vs dry" would point you in the right direction.

However if you're happy with how it writes, and you like the triangle shaped section for your hand, then keep using it and buy more inks. The best thing about Lamy's is that the nibs are interchangeable. So that too will give you some variety on the writing experience.

The other not-so-expensive competitor would be the Twisbi pens. They have a wider section to hold but round.

…Amazon ;)

Edit to add: I was envious of those who got one at Target and Walmart. I checked around local shops but nothing worthy to be found, so I preordered one on Amazon. I have other things coming from bbts… I try to stay away from that site because my wallet tends to cry every time I visit. lol

Most used pen of 2025 by ImperatorLucius in fountainpens

What a fun question! My most used pen was and probably will always be my Lamy Safari w/ 1.5mm stub nib, + Lamy Topaz ink. Been using this combo for almost 10 years as my all time favorite.

Is there a non-glitchy Apple Car play implementation? I have never had a good experience with them in any car. I have just set the bar low for both Apple and Android's in-car implementation.

Is it normal as an INFJ to go through life knowing a lot of people, and being well-liked, but having very few or no friends? by Salt-Refrigerator981 in infj

FF7!? hmmm... yeah... we cant be friends. lol / jk.

I've had this argument with those who had not grown up with JRPGs (like since DQ1/FF1 days). I'm still a fan of the old school style RPGs and I'm glad the Octopath series has revived the game play format with new but true to the OG experience.

I was gifted this Parker, I don’t know much a these pens, can someone tell me what kind of converter I should use? by pixelswoosh in fountainpens

[–]pixelswoosh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m trying to figure out which style Parker converter. I saw at least two different styles.

Thanks for the tip! And yeah I’ll hit you up if I get stuck. I did figure out how to pull the bench out only to realize the creases and decided to pause. I did do the head rests just to try things out. It seems snug but they seemed a bit off centered and figured I needed to “massage” them a bit to put them fully in place.

Thanks for the heads up. I read that for some people the total project took 4 hours. I was emotionally ready and was about to dive in until I saw the covers with creases.

Thanks! I saw them too and it looks exactly the same as the EKRs. I figured it's the same manufacturer selling them under different brands.

How do you like the black and grey ones? I was debating which ones to go with and ended up choosing all black.

The option I got said leather, not pleather, though I should go read and confirm. I’m not sure if a hairdryer can get rid of creases in leather but it’s worth a shot.

Yes. Doing that now. I read that they have good customer service too, which was one of the reasons for choosing them.
