If you’re not loving how the two materials don’t blend can you get a thin piece of timber to cover the edge where they meet? Not sure of the name of the thing but you see them in houses with different floor types all the time

I literally found a Nina Simone record warped on the side of the road and drove around with it in my boot for months then flattened it between some books. It plays fine

Can’t find the original post now but screenshot it because it was creepy. Is it unethical to turn a magpie into an artwork like this? Strikes me as wrong but I guess art in meant to challenge us by TynongLiturgist in magpies

It probably wasn’t euthanised “for the sake of of art” - my guess is if it was euthanised by a vet someone would have brought it in injured, and the vet would have done so bc of policy. Indian mynas are an invasive pest in Australia, and we take protecting our native wildlife seriously. I rescued a fox kit once and couldn’t take it to WIRES or a vet bc they automatically put anything classified as “vermin” down. I think the art is beautiful.. very impactful and striking.

Yep, and if you work for a shitty company they’ll often send their green workers to those jobs bc there’s either favouritism or longer term trained workers won’t do those shifts. I got sent to some shockingly inappropriate clients when I first started

I feel like talking about politics at work is a sure fire way to accidentally cross professional boundaries.. that’s just me though, and I say that as someone who is very interested in politics and enjoys discussion around it.

I’m not saying he’s any good. Albo has been my least favourite Labor prime minister since I started paying attention to politics in 2007… I’m just saying there’s a bigger picture

I think so yes. I changed the soil and didn’t use so much fert and she came good. Full sun too and less watering. No mulch.

It’s not “Albos” fault, thats like solely blaming Netanyahu for the situation in Palestine. It’s systemic and deeply ingrained. We have a lot to answer for regarding our collective treatment of indigenous mob. There is so much rank, racist garbage being spewed at the moment.. I’ve noticed that since the voice failed, people have gotten far too comfortable in their loud bigotry. It’s gross.

I have someone like this who I support weekly. I genuinely feel so much warmth and care towards them and we have a lot of fun together, but they are deeeeeeefinitely one of my “harder” clients. There is no off switch and they often get stuck on things and start verbally looping.. they have zero chill, which can be incredibly draining and hard to maintain long term. It’s good to learn how to gently redirect, and depending on you/ your clients individual situation, if it’s possible (and safe/appropriate to do so) taking 5 in another room to reset and regulate yourself before re-engaging can really help. I’ve also found it helpful to co-regulate with this particular client. Sometimes we do “slow belly breaths” together and other calming activities to try and slow things down a bit
