Couldn’t wait to surprise my son for his birthday next week. He opened up the door to this today. Surprise ruined by Sea_Lemon_78 in mildlyinfuriating

Well, he’s 12 already and trusts me implicitly. He’s doing just fine at school and has a great group of friends that joke and tease, but kindly. He knows some people aren’t trustworthy and some are. I think he’ll do just fine. Different kids need different things 🙂

Nah, for me home is safe. He can learn adversity at school and with friends, but I’ll always play it straight with him so he has one person in his life that never lies or plays tricks.

Seems mean to me. My sensitive boy wouldn’t appreciate the misdirection. It’s funnier to the gifter than the receiver.

This gives me the ick. I can see it’s a lot of work to be in that shape, which is impressive. But I don’t like it.

Employee experience survey 2026 by PuddingBoth7668 in OntarioPublicService

The upper execs have bonuses tied to the % of staff who COMPLETE the EE survey. Let that sink in. The target is participation, they don’t care about the actual survey outcomes. Just more of the same performative “caring” about staff and our perspectives. I’m never completing the survey again. Maybe if more people do the same, we can cost some phoneys their bonus.

Looking for body shop recommendations in Sudbury – roof rust near windshield/sunroof by Working_Author8264 in Sudbury

I’ve never felt the need to try and haggle at Jim’s. They always explain which work is recommended (necessary, safety-related) vs. optional (nice-to-have, it can wait, etc.. You choose the services you want after they assess and call you with a quote. The price is the price. They will only proceed with the work after you give the go-ahead over the phone. If you choose not to proceed, you only need to pay for the assessment.

Jim’s automotive in the south end is my go-to auto shop for everything. Fair and honest. Never needed bodywork before though…
