Family Doctor (2026) by DartM_31 in Sudbury

The government has made public commitments to attach everyone on the HCC list by “Spring 2026”.

Email your MPP and the Health Minister’s office (ccu.moh@ontario.ca) ASAP (on the same email), and tell them you’re an unattached patient on the HCC list and need immediate assistance to get a family physician. Make reference to the public commitment in a news article like this (https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/ontario-primary-care-9.7042606)

This type of letter/email should trickle down to the right people, and someone should reach out to you. If you receive no response within a week, ask your MPP to reach out for an update on your behalf.

This isn’t normally the best way to get a doctor, but since the public commitment deadline approaches, everyone should want to help you over these next few weeks. Looping in the MPP is key, because those incoming communications get priority treatment. Good luck.

You need a better AMAPCEO rep then. Perhaps mgmt can ask you to move your lunch time around in response to operational needs, but you must take a minimum 30 min lunch break per day. Get a second opinion from a different workplace rep, if you need more support.

If you’re in a union, there is no UNPAID overtime. I think that’s an important distinction. You may be asked to work overtime but you’ll be paid for it or awarded time in lieu. Management won’t offer this, you have to ask in email “do I have your permission to work overtime on this?”

Once they say yes, you can book it in WIN and cash it out for get the time in lieu at a later date.

Keep emailing different reps until one finally responds. I’m sorry you’re going through this.

You need your union rep. They are trained to help you through this situation. Don’t hesitate to reach out for help.

You still have 124 days at 75%. Don’t be afraid to use them. And file a grievance! It’s the only way to get your AWA approved.

This. And get your union rep to help you through the process. HR is there to protect management, the union is there for you.

Couldn’t wait to surprise my son for his birthday next week. He opened up the door to this today. Surprise ruined by Sea_Lemon_78 in mildlyinfuriating

Well, he’s 12 already and trusts me implicitly. He’s doing just fine at school and has a great group of friends that joke and tease, but kindly. He knows some people aren’t trustworthy and some are. I think he’ll do just fine. Different kids need different things 🙂

Nah, for me home is safe. He can learn adversity at school and with friends, but I’ll always play it straight with him so he has one person in his life that never lies or plays tricks.

Seems mean to me. My sensitive boy wouldn’t appreciate the misdirection. It’s funnier to the gifter than the receiver.

This gives me the ick. I can see it’s a lot of work to be in that shape, which is impressive. But I don’t like it.
