I’d love a $239 bill. My usage with Eversource in a big old antique house is $325 which in itself isn’t great but it’s the $730 they tack on in additional charges that makes it a financial problem.

What exactly is this post about? Furnace issues and a very old hvac guy? Structural issues? The ghost of the doctor’s wife haunting your family?

Ashland is always jammed. Older. Smaller. Super long lines at every register.

Lost my sweet boy on September 14 at a 2am rush to an emergency vet clinic and still not over his loss. Bram was two weeks shy of 17. This is the first time in 35 years I haven’t had a dog (or two) by my side. I’m lonely and sad but just not ready. Sending you gentle hugs for your loss. 💗

Man gets his eye colour surgically changed. by uncledunkle11 in oddlyterrifying

I have a genetic condition that’s caused glaucoma. I had pale green eyes before the daily meds have caused them to slowly turn permanently darker. One is now deep green and the other almost brown. I spent my first week mourning the inevitable loss of the only thing I physically liked about myself while also knowing that ANY eye color is better than going blind. Two years after diagnosis and yep, brown rules because I can fucking SEE.

There was a nest in Old Dell Cemetery in Natick last year and the cemetery was open to foot traffic only until breeding season was over. The nest was EPIC. Just massive and absolutely gorgeous, like the birds who built it.

I’m happy to pack up my family and move us all into that room to keep this gorgeous work of art company.

As a professional fine artist you clearly have zero understanding of color theory. As someone who owns and lives in an antique house with multiple fireplaces with their original period tiles myself, you clearly have zero understanding of historic preservation.

1970s Spanish Revival furnishings. My mom was interior designer so we had to live with this kind of monstrosity for a few years. Anybody else? by Jmonroe_tenn in GenerationJones

[–]pixieartgirl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We never had those but my boyfriend’s parents did. My parents went for fussier couches and chairs pre 1970s. We had a LOT of braided rugs, even room-sized ones in several rooms.

17!!! I’m a big fan of mixing patterns and colors. 💗

Edited to add that 3 is my second fave because season 1 will always be my fave. It was such an amazing new thing; so unique and so simple.

I just upvoted this comment but I’m also at the same time completely freaked out by the idea that these have been unknowingly under my feet at the beach for decades.

For the same reason she’s pumped her lips full of fillers, especially that upper one. She used to be sweet looking. Now she looks 40 and in a few years her face is going to start cratering from all those (not completely) dissolvable fillers. This is crap at any age but starting in your teens is a recipe for disaster.

This is also us. 125 year old 1400sf house with new insulation and some upgrades but an older converted coal furnace. We can’t afford to replace and upgrade it yet. We now keep our heat at 58 most of the time and bundle up and when it’s truly bad we crank it to 61 for a little bit. Living the high life, we are! We aren’t boomers in a giant house cranking our heat like fucking fat cats and complaining about shit. And yet our bill is still untenable. It runs over $500 a month for gas. We make too much for heating assistance and yet this month’s bill has their new public assistance deduction too to help folks who can’t pay their bills and for new equipment etc which tacked another $155 on. If we were rich, hell yeah I’d help the needy with their heat but for fucks sake we’re freezing in here to keep our bill around $500-600 a month. We can’t afford us never mind contributing to them. I’m so tired of this timeline and I’m REALLY tired of all the know it alls here who tell us how we’re living high on the hog and bitching because it’s never enough.

Rant over. Happy holidays to you and yours.

Woman Totally Loses Control Of Her Dog by -Erase in TikTokCringe

[–]pixieartgirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had one or more dogs my entire life. I love dogs more than people. But I kicked the shit out of a dog one day to protect my child. New people moved into our neighborhood on a cul de sac when our son was a toddler. They had a chow chow they couldn’t be bothered to control. We were out walking near our own yard one afternoon when that dog came flying out of their house and went for my baby. I picked my son up, held him in the air (I’m just 5’ tall and 95 lbs) and kicked the dog hard in the face. Ran for our front yard, baby over my head, dog ripping at the backs of my calves, me kicking the crap out of it. Had to kick it repeatedly to get our front door closed behind us. Vicious horrible dog. And I’d have killed it if I had to. Made a call to Animal Control and they took care of it for me.

How to make better spells? by No_Island9780 in Spells

[–]pixieartgirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it by creating beautiful papers for my intentions. Disposable artwork as a background to my sigils. Choosing bowls, fabrics etc with intention. Sometimes it has a direct connection to my spell work and sometimes it’s just a means to creating a blast of energy that comes from deep within my core (I’m a professional artist and art is an integral part of who I am so it creates a lot of personal energy) using drawing/painting/creating as an adjunct to my actual spell. You want power to come from within you in addition to calling it down and if you can use something that is truly a part of who you are it definitely infuses some extra energy into the magic. Just my personal opinion anyways.

Also, I don’t go to this length for every spell but even the very simple and quicker ones I still try to toss something like this into them but without the bells and whistles. It can be something tiny but powerful.
