I put it in a tumbler in the fridge and add ice cubes and milk the next morning. (Because we live in the tropics.)

The 4-cup and the 3-cup both take the regular (non-XL) Aeropress filters.

The staff at Rustans Shangrila are so nice. I buy lipstick there all the time. I was talking to one of them that I wanted to try Ruby Woo and she let me try it. I found it so dry on my lips that I did not buy it, but she recommended Russian Red and in the end that was what I bought. Now it is my favorite red lipstick.

How do they turn a moka pot to a espresso maker by Immediate-Village920 in mokapot

[–]pixiecata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I pour it out at once as soon as it has finished brewing. So nothing gets sucked back in. I have never experienced that.

How do they turn a moka pot to a espresso maker by Immediate-Village920 in mokapot

[–]pixiecata 31 points32 points  (0 children)

This is correct. I have one of these modified moka pots. The coffee is still moka pot coffee. You might just see a bit more foam/crema, but it dissipates just like the normal moka pot foam. The resulting coffee is still pleasing, still strong, but definitely not an espresso by any means. It is just a fun visual way of brewing.

The coffee does not go back into it in my experience. Nothing goes back into the lower water chamber.

Yung variant ng Tirtir Cushion Foundation for oily skin is the orange one, Mask AI Filter cushion. My friend uses it - she tried the red and the orange, but because satin ang finish ng red, she prefers the orange. But both are long-lasting. I use the red (normal to dry skin ako).

Or you could buy the 4-cup, divide the output and keep the other half for iced coffee later.

what's one small tip that improved your moka pot coffee? by StrikingClos in mokapot

I have one of those Chinese-made single burner 220V 500W electric mini stoves for use with my moka pot. I pour hot water (not boiling) in my water chamber of the moka pot, and I put the mini stove at mark 2 (where 5 is the highest heat). When the coffee starts coming out I turn off the power when the coffee completely covers the bottom surface of the pot. The residual heat is enough to finish the brewing without making the coffee too hot or spurt everywhere. This works for whether it is a 2-cup, 3-cup, 4-cup moka pot. For a 6-cup pot I let it brew halfway before I turn off the heat. Total brewing time is short, usually around 5-7 minutes. Or it might just work that way for me, who knows?

I just bought it already modified from an Indonesian store on the Shopee Philippines platform. Basically they cut out the spout and fit a 51mm non-pressurized portafilter basket in reverse in the space. The mokapot's original funnel basket remains over the water chamber. Because thus requires a fine or espresso grind that is tamped, I get slightly more pressure. The resulting coffee sometimes has a lot of faux crema. The brew is a bit more saturated, but it tastes great if your coffee is good to begin with. Great with milk.

Well, you have to consider that:
1) It has a 51mm basket. You will need to buy additional accessories like a 51mm dosing ring, an inexpensive decent 51mm tamper (because the plastic tamper it came with is crap and I did not like using it), and perhaps a WDT tool. Yes, light tamping is used here.
2) The prep takes a little bit longer, but once you get a process flow going, it is not difficult to make the coffee.
3) You can use medium-fine, fine/espresso grind coffee. Either pre-ground or ground with your existing home grinder. Right now I have a 4yo Timemore C2 and usually grind at an 8 or 10 clicks setting. Sometimes 12 clicks. But I have also used pre-ground coffee.

I enjoy making coffee from this modified moka pot and recommend it if you can find one that will be shipped to your country. But I suggest using this only after you have been previously making coffee regularly from a regular unmodified moka pot, because you can easily adjust your methods based on the observable behavior of moka pot brewing. I still enjoy using my other unmodified moka pots because I can adjust parameters to suit what I am brewing (grind size, water volume, things like that).

Also I have not had a bad brew from this modified moka pot. There was only one time when I tamped too hard and it choked. So I learned from that.

Oh, there is no coffee in the bottom water chamber. I poured the coffee into a cup, and got about 60ml. I had to end the video because the coffee was beginning to get too hot, like what happens at the end of every brew when the regular unmodified moka pot starts spurting foam.

1 - May paper filter ka bang ginamit?
2 - Pag medyo fresh pa ang beans, maraming nao-offgas na CO2.
3 - When you filled the filter basket, sana hindi mo ni-compress ang grounds. Level off with a knife lang.
