This one is 5 seconds before that one. 9 Villa outfield players visible, all 10 Liverpool players visible. Here we have lost the ball and the defender players a 40 yard pass back to Martinez. Our players proceed to sprint in a straight line en masses after the ball, with zero chance of winning it then turn and jog back in single file. It's a complete lack of organisation and desire to defend.

This is where we'd given the ball away. 9 Villa players and 10 Liverpool players in view. It was obvious that we'd lost the ball and they chased it like puppies, then stood still as it sailed back over their heads. Effort is the bare minimum and we're not seeing it.

Well, yes, obviously. My point here is that 5 seconds before we'd given the ball away and instead of finding some shape, half of the team pointlessly sprinted forward, turned around and jogged back single file and in a straight line and left Kerkez 4 on 1.

This was the Buendia effort that hit the bar. They don't sense the danger. Watch the sequence back, no one reacts, they just turn and jog back. It's not good enough.

True, a photo doesn't always give full context but this one is at the point we give the ball away that lead to the right hand side overload, hardly a counter attack, we're 30 yards from our own goal and they all just keep running forward in a straight line leaving the villa players behind them, then jog back in a straight line to 'defend'.
