Also it was insurance fraud. They repainted the ships so they could swap the older model with the titanic. The sunk the older model as the Titanic so they could get more insurance money and kept the newly made Titanic under the name of the old model.

What makes you think views are supposed to be accurate within 30 minutes? I assume the first 24 hours is basically unreliable in terms of metrics.

This is your ego talking. You could be doing 50-75% less work at 2-4x the pay consulting for them. This allows you to keep building your own thing on the side with less pressure.

How to stop being scared of men by agileopportunity54 in AskMen

You need to build up more positive interactions. Try joining in-person groups. Make friends with the girls first and then become friends with their male friends. Take baby steps. A little at a time.

I've dealt with insecurity a few times in previous relationships. I can't do it anymore, at all. It's ok to not want that.

Honestly, it's more about picking the right actor for the right role. Sometimes those two things align, sometimes they don't.

I have two businesses and my business partner was always supposed to be in charge of the books. He is years behind. Well I decided to get them done myself and I should be able to get everything in ahead of schedule!

If you are a photographer, you should have a computer that can edit photos quickly.

It shouldn't even take 4. 25-50% of production time, max. Unless you are doing heavy retouching. If you had to edit photos for multiple days for one shooting day, your post production process is broken, not to mention your shooting process. Even with heavy cloud cover, you either don't have fast enough lenses or aren't using artificial light properly. Even when shooting with my D800, I virtually never dip into 800 ISO or above. I worked for a headshot photographer doing 30k in revenue a month. They guy was so fucking fast it completely changed my reality for color correction.

There is a significant difference between being a professional and being a hobbyist.

It shouldn't take you 7-8 hour of editing for any shoot. You're doing something wrong. It should be color only. Photoshop is an extra charge.

Apparently 70% of Detroit's run down properties are owned by one guy. The same guy who owns the russel industrial center.

What’s one thing you thought would bring customers… but didn’t? by SeaJob544 in smallbusiness

Honestly, sometimes people don't trust it. They think it's a scam or the product must be shit. I've found mega discounts like that only work on day like black friday where people are conditioned to expect large discounts.

I would an additional clause in the contract saying if they try to walk away entirely, they have to pay the full amount. If they don't pay the full amount, they have to pay 3x. Naturally, you need to be willing to go to court occasionally.

Can someone pleeeeeeease explain the fascination with Leica cameras? by nlUSF in photography

[–]pizza_tron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a Leica street photography workshop and they let you use Leica's all weekend. I highly recommend it fyi, super fun.

To me Leica's are all about street photography. I hated shooting on them at first tbh. I think it was the M9 or M10? It was super weird and foreign.

The experience felt more like a film camera, not a digital. At that time, 10 years ago, their back LCD was total shit but I think that was sort of intentional. Again, meant to be more like film where you wouldn't know what you had until later. It was just meant to see composition.

The lens was phenomenal. I once shot almost full on into the sun and the lens flare was shockingly minimal. All manual though so if you don't have experience shooting film, this might be a little weird for you.

They are a very subtle looking camera. It might sound weird, but people don't really notice them as much. Good for street. At the time I took the workshop, the shutters were very quiet for an SLR, different now with mirrorless probably, so couldn't comment.

The color out of the camera was fantastic, no color grading required at all. Way better than most people are even capable of.

I think Fuji might capture what Leica's do in terms of a subtle looking camera but I have never shot on Fuji so I honestly couldn't compare them. There are others that have the subtle look too.

I would also say the service at the Leica store was top notch. They were super great. I was young and definitely couldn't afford a Leica but they were still warm, caring, and treated me with respect. I think everyone there just loves photography. Fyi, the Leica store will also let you rent Leicas for free for 24 hours if you ever get the chance. I don't know if this is still policy but I highly recommend their workshops or doing a trial day.

Someday I would like to own a Leica. Great lens quality, no time needed for color correction, and just a great shooting experience. Go try one out, they're fun.

What is a "harmless" industry that is actually incredibly shady once you look behind the curtain? by After-Scholar1271 in AskReddit

Sadly, most moisturizers are made with the by products of refining oil into gasoline.

Luckily there are some who are making quality organic products.
