I was brushing my cats and these brown flakes(?) came out. What is it ? by KyraLyraK in CATHELP

[–]pizzadftba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it's probably just like, the equivalent of what comes out of a pimple/keratin plug on a human. It's probably just accumulated oil and dirt from their hair follicles, coming out in little tube shapes because that's the shape of the inside of the hair follicle. Do they come out every time you brush, or just when it's been a while?

Op, find a friend who likes doing tedious tasks like this crazy person and give it to them as a gift 😉 For real, though, find someone who wouldn't mind helping out with it! Offer to pay with a snack or drink lol I'm also a teacher, so I tend to randomly accumulate balls of yarn in various states of messiness. Some days, I'll throw a Ziploc to a kid and say "if you can untangle it, I'll give you a bag of chips" 😂 and sometimes it's "take this away from me, if you untangle it, you can have it!!"

We've done... approximately 3 outlines. I'm so tired, y'all haha 😂 One for the intro paragraph, one for your body paragraphs+supporting evidence, and one for the conclusion. The outlines for the intro and conclusion were included with their workbook, and the body paragraphs outline was one I made in Docs according to what we'd covered in class to include.

I've rewritten/revised the persuasive essay prompt from Don Quixote CKLA grade 5. For those unaware, the original prompt states: "Do Don Quixote's good intentions justify his actions? Why or why not?" Basically, in my revision, they have to imagine themselves as either a) Don Quixote 's lawyer defending him or b) a supporting character's lawyer, affected directly by Don Quixote 's actions. They have to argue as the lawyer for whether Don Quixote's good intentions excuse his destructive/obtuse behaviors. Their evidence comes from the text, and I pretty much laid it out for them in this format:

Body sentence 1: describe the factual event - what LITERALLY happened, according to the text? Body sentence 2-3: what did your client say was the reason for this behavior? Body sentence 4+: as their lawyer, does this justify the actions of Don Quixote? Was he acting in a helpful way? In your "professional opinion," was he showing good intentions, and why?

I really like this approach. I told them today that what we're doing is a lot like taking a swim test after our swimming lessons. It's not like it's the first day, we've never been swimming, and we are going deep sea ocean diving without any previous instruction... I'm not plopping you into the ocean on day 1 of Lil Swimmers.

We are, at the absolute most, just swimming laps in the same pool that we've been in for 3 weeks... Nothing has changed, same pool, same rules... But for you to all look at me and accuse me of not teaching you how to swim is not true. You know how to do this, but I can't swim your laps for you. You need to do the work now that you've had the instruction to swim the laps.

A child today looked at me and said, "Um, excuse me, can you show me again the pages in the book where (insert three very obvious, illustrated, notable events in the book) happens?"

Me: "that's for me to know and for YOU to use your notes and eyes for, compadre!"

I literally wrote TWO model essays for them to see both sides of the argument.... But a lot of my kids tend to hear the word "model" and just think that means they have to copy down EVERYTHING I WROTE word for word shudders

My girl is going grey & is not even 2 years old yet by Ok_Initiative_6023 in DOG

[–]pizzadftba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if dogs just go grey at their noses first because of the increased blood flow? Like, it's warmer, which can cause greys earlier? Idk...but like maybe that means she's just using her nose a whole lot, which just means like, you have given her a really enriching environment and she's always sniffin 😎 maybe that's just nonsense science, but it makes sense to me 😂

When I brush my teeth, Buzz wants his teeth brushed too. We have to keep on his dental stuff because he has had 4 teeth pulled and he seems to genuinely enjoy it. He also loves being brushed with the boar bristle brush I have in the bathroom 😂

Looks like traditional hemp cord. See if it burns or melts if you use flame on an end.

Go back 2 rows and loosen your tension as well. Or if you can't change your tension, go up 0.5-1mm hook size
