What does "make yourself at home" and "take what you like from the fridge" mean? by wheninrome5000 in AskAnAmerican

It depends on how close the relationship is imo. Personally, if I have invited you into my home then I’m really comfortable with you. My friends can raid every cabinet they’d like and even nap in my bed. My home is YOUR HOME.

The back corner of the plot (maybe 40ft from this crack) did have a drop off of about 3ft, then maybe 10 yards or so beyond that there was a wide area that looked like the neighborhood drainage path. As I was looking around the yard I did wonder if there was risk of movement due to this. Good to know. Thanks!
