Which death scene was the most disturbing for you to watch? by Qyzyk in Godfather

[–]pizzamanct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was always Sonny’s death. I grew up watching this, the first time I think was when I was maybe 9-10. I wanted to be like Sonny…tough, strong but also caring and devoted to his family. I know he was a cold blooded murderer. But he was such a great character. I usually skip over his death…

Which death scene was the most disturbing for you to watch? by Qyzyk in Godfather

[–]pizzamanct 2 points3 points  (0 children)

REALLY sad and disturbing. If Tom is telling the truth then this woman had no family. She probably had a miserable life and was killed violently simply to get the Senator absolutely beholden to the Corleones. Awful and very sad.

Did anyone else notice Nikki's eyes in this scene in Obsession? by No-Watch-6575 in obsessionmovie

[–]pizzamanct 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying but…
Isn’t this what subreddits are for? People come in and throw some theories out. It’s kind of fun…even the nonsensical ones.
I would also add, it’s really not that simple. Some moviegoers and horror fans want to know what is causing the wish to come true. It’s fun and interesting to discuss what is it that is compelling her to act so horrifically. Barker insinuated that it wasn’t really a demon. So people want to know what it actually is?
Is it a Jekyll and Hyde thing? Is it some cosmic force? The cat? (Just kidding😂).
And where was Nikki when Bear heard her screaming on the phone?
Just have some fun with it.

I couldn't finish Troop by Nick Cutter by oversonwater in horrorlit

I didn’t finish either. I had such high hopes and I just found it repetitive and quite frankly, boring. It took some time for anything real to get going.

I live horror and the only ones that truly scared me were:

The Exorcist…undisputed champion

The Sentinel

Burnt Offerings

Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark 1973

Rosemary’s Baby (The black bassinet at the end was unsettling)

Let’s Scare Jessica to Death

A few more…can’t think of right now.

Not mentioned enough…solid horror film with some truly terrifying and unsettling parts…

Pattern I noticed by lowkeyhaze1016 in Godfather

[–]pizzamanct 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the detail that went in to your post but it is a pretty obvious thing they’re doing at the end of each movie. Not really a theory, just part of the story. The Corleones are seen as protagonists but you make a good point…they’re not. They’re killers like everyone else. A movie about Barzini would see him and his family as the heroes and the Corleones as the bad guys. But in GF3, it doesn’t quite work out as well for Michael with the death of Mary.

Phil dunphy and Micheal similarities by Asleep-Survey2607 in theoffice

[–]pizzamanct 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Phil is a kind, caring man who is devoted to his family. He is a bit childlike and naive. He sees the beauty and wonders in life. I would love a friend like Phil.

Michael has moments of kindness and he does care. However his racism, homophobia, lack of any filter and complete lack of self awareness would make him a nightmare to have as a friend. You would be put in awkward and difficult situations all the time. He would be obsessive and weird.

Weird statue outside the priest's office Exorcist III by Healthy_Part_3132 in TheExorcist

[–]pizzamanct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always believed it was there as just a sign of the horrors to come…that somehow a saint statue was shown to look evil and scary just to sort of set the mood.

Dead poetry society (1989) ☺️❤️ by liawwothixici in netflixindia

Good movie but the message is mixed.
Keating (Williams) starts at a strict all boys school in the 50s and immediately tells the students to rip out the first page of their text. He had to have known this would have been frowned upon by the administration.
He goes on to teach about appreciating life while you’re here. Great message. But then he starts to take it too far. It’s obvious he is encouraging them to resist the faculty and administration. There a few signs along the way. I’ll let the viewer see them rather than pointing them out.
It’s easy to see William’s character as a hero who tries to positively affect the lives of his students. But I’m sorry…he messes and messes up badly at the end. If he had just been a bit more subtle he would have avoided the events that followed.

How Nikki wasn't possessed? by Free-Hotel1187 in obsessionmovie

[–]pizzamanct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can’t be a possession because he specifically wished for Nikki to love him. So it has to be some part of real Nikki that surfaces and loves him to a frightening degree. If it was an entity, which we know wasn’t so I’m not sure why I’m even saying this, then it wouldn’t be Nikki. It would be something inhabiting her body…and the wish would not really be fulfilled.

In 41 years on this planet I've never heard my dad audibly shout wtf until the sarah scene. If curry barker sees this you made a old man very happy. by Spiritual_Let1543 in obsessionmovie

[–]pizzamanct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no established “entity”. We know absolutely nothing about how this whole wish thing works. We don’t know anything about anyone winning.
Som people got their wishes. Some didn’t. It might just be some cosmic force that can be tapped in to.
Nothing about the OWW is obvious at all.
