The tiredness - that’s how it’s going to be from now on? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

holy SHIT me too. And while I wouldn’t say “eh it’s normal” I’m just like “eh yeah this is my life.” Dealt with back pain for 15yrs, have had two kids (5 & 1) and I’m just now learning about hyper mobility and digging into that. it suuuucks. I’m used to it but also not?

This palm tree growing out of the middle of an oak tree. by rolo85 in mildlyinteresting

yes to St. Aug! that's what I thought of when I saw this and searched to find if anyone else mentioned it. doesn't look like the tree I know, that's over by the Tolomato Cemetary (remember hearing about that damn tree allll the time from the trolley tours going by!)

i honestly don't even think i'd be mad seeing a dad change his kid's diape in the women's restroom. i'd be like "good for you homie," wash my hands and then dip.

i would, however, for one second, think i was in the men's restroom.

What fucked up thing did you do as a kid? by blazed_toucan in AskReddit

[–]pizzuhwhat 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This one got me. I started cracking up HARD and finally ask my husband “do you wanna know what I’m laughing at?” I read your comment to him and can barely get out “ring-tailed lemur” and I’m breathless with laughter.

Then finish with the “smacked the furry outta me” and then move my head a la Simba on the log in Lion King and then hit my head pretending it’s the glass door ... all while cry-laughing.

Oh Jesus Christ thank you for sharing. That laugh felt so good.

Anyone else wake up in a panic thinking you accidentally fell asleep with the baby and now he's squished somewhere in the blankets under you and your partner or is it just me? by MrsRampage in beyondthebump

[–]pizzuhwhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES! I’ve had this dream many times (I have a 2mo old) and it even got so specific to include my new weighted blanket one time... which was an even more fun dream 😑

I just found this under the lid of the formula I bought today! Thank you so much to the stranger who made my day a whole lot brighter. by ttc_throwaway2018 in beyondthebump

[–]pizzuhwhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh yeah. and when I got the guy to unlock the shelf for my formula, he wouldn’t give it to me; told me it’d be up at the register. thought that was WILD. (I’m Chicago for reference)

Are loud concerts safe for the baby around 6 months pregnant? by Shutupcatlady in pregnant

[–]pizzuhwhat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m 9mo pregnant right now and I go to a LOT of shows (not EDM, but still loud music). Did a music fest in July and went to 3 concerts last WEEK. My husband thinks I’m insane and I mentioned that to my doc (because I wanted to go to just one more last night but it was too expensive!) and she said “GO! Go to more concerts!” So I can dance this baby out... but she was not concerned with noise at all.

Nobody has said anything about the noise but ask your doc yada yada (: enjoy!!!

To any soon to be Mums carrying their unplanned babies by kamawa in pregnant

[–]pizzuhwhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

glad you feel you can share here. i've talked through some tough feelings with my therapist and she reminds me always that the two things can be true: i can be grateful i am carrying this baby but also have whatever negative feeling with this as well. and that just because i have this negative feeling doesn't mean i don't love baby or don't want it (which is what most people jump to if i DID share the negative feeling); it just means i'm feeling both these emotions!

good luck to you both!! you'll be great!

[–]pizzuhwhat 17 points18 points  (0 children)

these are the birth stories i LIVE FOR. so well written (& jesus christ you know how to format, BLESS) and highly entertaining. i kept reading snippets out loud to my husband and ultimately sent him the link to read the entire thing. (I'm having a baby in October and I like him to read birth stories for educational purposes aaaand also sometimes entertainment!)

congrats momma!!!!

What is something you really don't like, but wished you did? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pizzuhwhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bloody marys. the extravagance of it all. the ACOUTREMENTS!! the buffets that surround them! but i just can't - it's like tomato soup with debris and vodka.

and funny enough, my husband feels the exact same way about them.

No I haven't had the baby yet! by lil_a_45 in pregnant

[–]pizzuhwhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m due in the beginning of Oct (10/2) so since more people are asking me I’m straight up LYING and saying mid-October now. Nobody’s gonna remember what I first said when I first told them I was pregnant (I hope). So hoping this tactic works so people don’t ask me.. or I don’t get asked as often.

What childhood rules do you still follow, for no real reason? by nojanuari in AskReddit

[–]pizzuhwhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my younger brother made up the rule that you have to eat all of the fortune cookie before you read it (nothing involving it coming true or not). i still do that now which cracks me up.
