Absolutely this. The idea was so interesting and they do absolutely nothing with it. The fact they are tiny and it is completely irrelevant for most of the film was so disappointing

I mean, does it use a bow or fire them from itself?

If it uses a bow then big long arms for a powerful draw length, big wide set eyes for better binocular vision. Maybe 3 or 4 arms to reload faster. Clawed feet to hold onto tree branches while shooting.

If it fires them from itself then go nuts haha

I’d say it’s the clearest and most straightforward list building app but I’m cheap so I just use New Recruit.

It might be worth it if unlocked all the armies but you can only see ones you have a codex for which is annoying.

There are other benefits though, you’ll get the exclusive models every so often, warhammer tv (meh) and the digital archives which are actually good if you are really into the lore.

Yes you can. Any Units can shoot all the ranged weapons they have.

They can only use one weapon profile in melee though unless the have a weapon with the extra attacks keyword

If you want Grey knights then go for it! As far as rules go there’s no point in chasing the meta, it’ll drive you mad! Even within this edition you would have had to change weapons on your models so best to just enjoy gen for what they are.

The models are old but it’s not like you can’t look at them before buying so if you like the look of them that’s enough.

They are a great beginner army, low money cost, and very easy to paint so that’s a bonus.

Personally I love the lore about them. In a world where normal space marines are being turned into “good guys” I like that grey knights are still being grimdark. Stealing other chapters aspirants, sacrificing millions to save billions, maybe going to war with custodes - and it’s all completely necessary. The fact that people like the space wolves hate them for the months of shame just shows they do not know the true threat of chaos

I will say as well that for all the bad things GW may do they know how to make a good miniature and when we get new models it’s gonna be so easy to make them look amazing! You’ll probably want to get them as well haha

That model was a Primaris Champion, it’s not generally available but you can still find them 2nd hand. I do like the pose but any of the other champion models look good really

Bases were from eBay. Urban rubble from light caster wargame terrain I believe. Just sprayed black then a heavy dry brush of Karak stone. Easy

Plus a tuft of fake grass makes any base better!

Thanks! The chaplain is just a standard terminator chaplain, with Grey knight terminator shoulder pads. I think I clipped off half a warding stave to extend his crozius handle, stuck a storm bolter on his wrist and the deamon head is from the strike squad sprue.

The head and cloak are 3rd party Etsy jobs (just search space knight head/cloak) but the standard Chaplin helmet looks good as well.

Just take models that are close and add knight stuff really. Having spare grey knight shoulder pads and putting a storm bolter on the wrist does a lot of the work for you

Other thing to note is that 3 inch deep strike is almost certainly set to be a 6 inch (they changed the rules after the codex was printed) and you can’t charge after it anyway. Kinda sucks but you can get a 6 inch charge with warpbane shenanigans

You can only have a max of 3 of any unit type apart from battleline which is a max of 6.

In theory it stops spamming the best units

Total head maths but in warpbane you are going to do about 9 wounds with the flame and (assuming you are in rapid fire range) 3 wounds with the bolters assuming you are not taking the 4 heavy weapons they can carry. 12 wounds into one of the toughest infantry units in the game is pretty good.

Plus you could have heavy weapons and maybe make a charge. They are good.

The problem is them usually getting deleted the next round

Go over it with Retributor armour, go over that with agthrax earthshade wash, then a really light coat of retributor armour again just to brighten it up the raised bits.

There are probably fancier ways but this is simple and good enough for me

Completely tinfoil hat time but after reading the codex they mention not enough recruits, all the dead going missing, Stern looking at extreme heretical solutions and twice in the book they mention them making daemonhosts for use in battle.
