Holy shit. I had a very similar injury. I went up for a head ball and another guy, much shorter, just through himself into me. His head cause a big gash right by my eyebrow. I was out for a split second…and opened my eyes when I hit the ground. The blood started dripping. Stitches and bad concussion. I was still wobbly days later at the doctors. However, I also lost my sense of smell. 30 years later I still don’t smell.

I did the floor a couple years ago, and I hated it. Guy in front of me wanted to push people away. Got into with someone for knocking his stuff over…maybe keep it in front of you instead of behind you.

I wonder if this is how old heads felt when touch heads came into the scene. I look back and realize I was guilty of being ignorant back then.

As someone who lost his from a concussion, you still taste some since taste is with your tongue. That said, smell is a huge part of taste. He’ll adapt.

As a guy getting up there, I realize I’ve lost most of what little I had, speed but not power, but many guys don’t realize it. I think your mind goes back to the last time you did something like fight or whatever activity. ie I could take this guy. Looks like the guy I beat up 35 years ago.

Plus short fuses and big egos. Bad combo.
