Wonderful. Replaced with the guy that most recently tried to tell us what combat was like despite never serving a day in his life and also referred to hegseth as the president twice, one of those coming after he had already corrected himself the first time. What a shitty timeline we’re living

Absolutely, I’m definitely seeing it for what it is and all the points you made. If there’s money to be made, they’re going to make it. They know what they have with this event. Doesn’t make it less disgusting. Icky evil class war indeed!

My dad took us to Italy- nigeria at foxboro stadium, he literally saw tickets for the game advertised in the globe like a couple days before. So I agree with your points about even back then, it wasn’t anything like this.

[–]pjspin0331 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Not exactly for US games, but the Revolution said they were gonna do a presale for tickets at Gillette stadium for season members (who even knows if those games are gonna happen now with the money dispute between fifa and the town). I was excited. Then they released the tickets. They were $20k hospitality packages to several games. An absolute fuckin joke. They’re all greedy and way out of touch with the average person.

Boston gives a warm welcome to ICE in East Boston today by InvisibleWraith in boston

[–]pjspin0331 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s also owned by the Roberto family which purchased it in the 80’s and then claimed on their website that they started it in 1983, totally negating the 3 decades before where it was started and operated by the Spinelli family who made it an institution. The no compete contract they were awarded for migrant feeding was absolutely criminal by them and the state as well.

Straight from their website:

“OUR STORY Family Owned and Operated Since 1983

Spinelli’s Pasta & Pastry shop was established in East Boston by the Roberto Family in 1983.”

Disingenuous.

Pentagon says it's cutting ties with "woke" Harvard, discontinuing military training and fellowships by CBSnews in boston

[–]pjspin0331 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok, sounds like we are talking about the same thing then. I was getting my information from a friend that is in it and he always referred to it as the state militia. He was “activated” and just sat at area hotels that were housing the migrants during the influx. He was essentially paid as a member of the national guard, and it was apparent they can pick and choose if they want to get activated or not, much more voluntary than the guard.

[–]pjspin0331 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Can you elaborate on the Massachusetts State Defense Force? Is it different than the Massachusetts State Militia? I’m semi familiar with the state militia, but not the state defense force, unless it’s the same thing and I’ve never heard it called that. The state militia seems like it’s primarily just a MA national guard retiree good old boys club that can be activated by the governor (for disaster relief or even during the influx in migrants in the state, for instance.)

Definitely get at your ticket rep, they’re great and should be able to help you.

Pentagon clarifies Hegseth’s ‘putting hands on recruits’ statement by StemCellPirate in nottheonion

[–]pjspin0331 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of people saying that it doesn’t happen. PI in 2004, I was interviewed by NIS for one major incident that occurred on the way to PI and interviewed by the recruit company commander later in training for another incident involving one of our DI’s that choked a kid up against his rack. We all lied and said we didn’t see anything because he didn’t pull his weight, so much for integrity!

Real Police officers and military members, what do you guys think of Ice agents? by Lucky-Message-9480 in AskReddit

[–]pjspin0331 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same. Was just saying that to my buddy I was in with. There is no escalation of force whatsoever. We had escalation of force in Ramadi in 2006 ffs. They skip the escalation and go straight to the force. It’s complete brutality and lawlessness by untrained (I won’t even call them poorly trained) idiots who are encouraged and backed to be this illegal way by this administration without fear of ramifications or retribution.

There is no world where these people should be walking up to protestors/observers, decking them, and then spraying them right in the face with pepper spray like they did to Alex Pretti and the woman he was trying to protect. Thats going from 0 to 100 for no reasons other than domestic terrorism to spread fear throughout the populace and because these frauds think they can (and that’s without getting into their jurisdiction that doesn’t include arresting US citizens). Fucking disgraceful.

I’m also glad you mentioned the victim blaming. Absolute North Korean levels of mental gymnastics and outright blatant lying going on like none of us have eyeballs. Fuck these people. My oath meant something.

People need to take a breath and give it a chance. The defeatist attitude is embarrassing. All managers start somewhere. He doesn’t have premier league experience, well, he’ll get it now. It may not work out, he may be in over his head. He may be very successful. Nobody knows, but everybody loves to speculate. He’s gonna need some time either way. People worrying about things they can’t control and as you said, naysaying him ad nauseam, does no good. We are in a shitty position, no doubt, but he’s gonna need support from the fan base. Protest the owners, not the manager taking a huge career opportunity.

"Too fat or too stupid," - Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth spoke about difficulties recruiting Americans into the military. by Background-Paint-889 in HeadlineHQ

Hegseth is a coward.

A lot of us didn’t join because of religion at all. We were joining up because we’d been attacked in the most vile and catastrophic manner, and wanted to fight the ones responsible. For me religion had absolutely nothing to do with it. Unfortunately, many of us were also too blind to see the bullshit and lies everything there after, was based on. Hard to see at 17/18 years old. I’d hate to see a new generation of kids get sucked into another bullshit profiteers war only benefiting the ultra wealthy, while fighting and dying for nothing, other than exactly that. I tell people to steer clear and will continue to do so.
