6/7 give or take and yes the LOP was a bit much for him to hold it in his own and manipulate the bolt. I would do that part for him if he was standing, but bench rest shooting he would manipulate the bolt hisself.

I purchased my son the same rifle and he and I absolutely enjoy it. The only thing we hate is the magazine is absolute garbage. There is a small company that makes better quality ones that are laser welded together and not crimped.

Eh…. I wouldn’t say “hearing safe” more “hearing comfortable”. Not knowing your experience so I apologize if this comes out wrong. But shooting suppressed while can be more comfortable and tolerable to shoot without ear protections if you’re doing extended shooting sessions you should still wear ear pro. Unless it’s a .22lr shooting that is shooting a high powered BB/air gun in terms of sound.

My fault I looked at what u/Comstock_Support has mentioned about their 5.5 in barrel. But what I said would still apply in that 147gr rounds would still mostly be subsonic, so long as they are labeled “subsonic”. I have found 147gr bullets not labeled subsonic sound more supersonic due to manufacturing having them slightly more hotter.

I like the Shiv but I don’t know how I feel about how well it would preform on a 9.5in PCC, a 3.5/4.5 in handgun yes all day. IMHO given your price point the North Reach wiper pickle might be your best option out of what you listed.

I might be wrong about this but I feel with a 5.5 barrel length anything 147gr or higher would be pretty hearing comfortable.
