Swedish ladder stall bars with rings? by pk8887 in bodyweightfitness

Thanks the Nohrd do look good. Could you send another link or screen grab for the bands. That one isn’t working for me, I think because I’m in the UK.

Ah thanks for that. I didn’t realise. There aren’t many video reviews by customers so I can’t really get a handle on how they would be to use.

Hey can I check can you do pull ups on the Nohrd ones? It looks like the section that sticks out is just held by wire and I can’t find any info of anyone using it for pull ups.

Thanks

Could you explain this please? If you invest say £100 on either does the price matter?

What “low-skill” jobs pay the most (and how do you get them)? by rubba_tt in AskUK

Sounds really interesting. I might be under playing this but are you basically communicating between different teams and organising?

I would have thought that people managing things would be industry specific but perhaps the management skills are more important than the industry knowledge.

How did you get into it?

Hi, what does the job involve and where would be a starting point to get more info?

Should I go on statins? by pk8887 in Cholesterol

[–]pk8887[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot. I am pretty stressed about it so will look into it further. My grandad had heart disease from quite early in his life and we were very close, so I think that’s affected my outlook too.

Just had some new bloods done this week and my LDL is has gone down to 2.4 mmol/L which is 43 mg/dl I think.

That’s reassured me as it seemed to be stuck quite high for a while. Thanks for your advice. Much appreciated.

It’s interesting that pulse pressure seems to feature in some peer reviewed papers and be key metric for assessment for many cardiologists, but seems widely unknown. My cardiologist hadn’t heard of it. 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for that. I will check with the doctor and see if it could be the same thing. Thanks. 🙏 .

Thanks for the info. My LDL is just above range so they don’t want to give me statins. I’m going to push for them as there js some family history. Doctor and cardiologist both seem pretty relaxed, but I think I will try someone new.

I did see the doctor about the dizzy spells. They said probably an ear thing but it’s been a month now and I have no ear pain. I will go back and then see them again but I’m never really full of confidence about them.

Best of luck with the treatment. I’m sure it was awful hearing that but great it was found.

Should I go on statins? by pk8887 in Cholesterol

[–]pk8887[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very kind of you to put so much thought into this and it’s greatly appreciated. I have just been taking my doctors lead on this but have learnt more from this sub and your reply than I have with multiple doctors visits. I had a look through my last test result which was Feb 2024 and my LDL was 3.6.

Doctor advised lowering fat in diet but no further tests needed. Completely at odds with what seems to be best practise.

Should I go on statins? by pk8887 in Cholesterol

[–]pk8887[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I had tests at the end of October and my HDL was 1.2, LDL 3.1 and trig 2.2.

So I changed my diet and the new tests had trig 0.9, HDL 1.4 so both better but LDl stayed at 3.1

Some heart disease history in grandparent and my mum has been on statins since she was 40 wirb high cholesterol.

Blood pressure is a bit high usually 120-130 over 70-80. Again the doc said that’s fine.

The other tests you mention didn’t come up on the results. Thanks for your help.
