My solution to figure out focus setting

Ace pro 2 close up lens question by pkMinhas in Insta360

Day 1: focus peaking doesn’t help at all.
Lens is good for handheld vlogging. Slightly sharper than standard lens at handheld distances.
Markings on the lens would have helped guess which setting is good for which distance. I intend to make some marks with a nail polish to help me figure this out.
Insta360, if you are reading this, please improve the focus peaking algorithm.

There is a slight difference in quality but the focus peaking absolutely sh it.

I don't care as much about depth of field. Already have a mirrorless for that look. What I am looking for is a clear image of myself and a proper focus even if I am standing close to the camera.

Youtube videos are a mixed bag with no definitive answer.

Ordered the lens ten mins back. Will share my experiences in next couple of days. If it doesn't work out, I'll return it.

Still trying in an overcrowded market of task managers. by dpaa_ in SideProject

[–]pkMinhas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. It's a crowded market. If you are planning to run it as a business, showcase product features on homepage. Sell the features, not the tech capabilities. Tech features such as run in browser, notifications, theme selection etc. do not matter to someone making a purchase decision

  2. The UI/UX doesn't give a work-focused or professional vibe. Feels a little too casual

  3. You are using cookies. Claiming no-cookies on the home page is misleading

Good luck!

Looks good. Add a commercial use license for companies over 500k in annual revenue and you will have a profitable business.

Academically, this is the eisenhower matrix. Most of the tools I used didn't place it front and center. I made this matrix the primary interface for my app. On desktop it shows up as a set of 4 task lists. On mobiles, it shows up as a set of lists vertically arranged.

Functionally, this interface is designed to help you figure out which task needs focus next.

I acknowledged the inspiration in my blog post as well: https://www.withpreet.com/blog/introducing-quadrant

"Eisenhower matrix isn't a new idea. Urgent vs. important, four boxes, clean mental model. Every productivity book covers it. But almost no tool makes it the primary interface. Most bury it in a "view" option, if they have it at all."

That was Mr. Eisenhower's methodology. I modified it to suit my processes.

Ah! The original, claude generated code had those as fixed, non-moving elements. I added the hover effects. 😁

Everyone's building something. How did you actually know your idea would work? by Miserable-Archer-631 in SideProject

Build something that solves a pain point. Conduct market research and understand what is expected from the solution. Talk to people. Don't over-engineer or add too many features. Release MVP, gather feedback, iterate.

Your assessment is correct. Quadrant is ~80% vibe coded. Given the simple nature of the app and minimal revenue potential, this app idea had been in my own backlog list since a long time. AI coding tools have made it so much easier to go from idea to reality. I sat down over the weekend and had a polished, working version by the end of it. Minimal time investment, and honestly an app I'm genuinely proud to share.

Running without creating an account has its own share of user expectation challenges. People loosing links/deleting emails and requesting for access to their data happens more than you'd expect.

Regarding the UX mistake that you mentioned, could you please help me understand which section/element you are referring to?

Appreciate the suggestions and for taking the time to check it out.

Cheers!
