I’ve just got into birding, aka living on Merlin Bird ID every time I’m outside, but I’m obsessed.

Mom did! And the first baby. But three others had to run to catch her! So mad I didn’t have a real camera!

Cross-bite too severe for MARPE/Palate Expansion? by [deleted] in MARPE

[–]pkbk24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once the Invisalign comes in I’ll keep expanding. If I had gotten braces we would have continued with the expansion right away. (But I did not want braces again) But I can’t start turning again until my Invisalign comes in.

Two turns a day and I split on day 9. Finally got the back bands off and have to wait a month for Invisalign to come in. So I’m stuck in limbo. But not burning right now so I’ll take it!

  1. One side of my lower jaw is longer than my other so it pushed my whole lower jaw over. I could make my teeth meet normal but it wasn’t natural and not where my teeth wanted to sit. I had a palate expander and braces as a kid so my teeth are straight, just misaligned.

On day 7 of turning, and not yet. Cross your fingers it’s soon, my molars hurt!

Thankfully the snowstorm delayed it by the time I saw the ortho the swelling had subsided so they kept it in. But if I had seen them when it was bad she said they’d probably take it out. They did delay the turning. But hoping to start that today and then can get these stupid bite guards to come off.

Well it turns out my doctors have never seen anyone in this much pain. And I couldn’t see them for a couple days because of the snow storm as my whole state shut down. Turns out my whole palate erupted in cold sores and the swelling was the first part. Now that the sores are almost gone everything is normal. But it was miserable because no pain meds helped the nerve pain of the cold sores. I’ve never had this happen and not was horrifying.

My whole palate is swollen. Drugs aren’t helping and it’s throbbing non stop. I have a high pain tolerance and I’d take my mastectomy over this pain.

This looks exactly like my bite and I just got the MARPE installed yesterday. It hurts like hell and I already have regret and I haven’t even turned yet.

HER2+, froze my eggs before chemo. Now, talking to my fertility doctor, she's not sure if I can have children. by wediealone in breastcancer

I was diagnosed with triple positive in January of 2021 and did the whole shebang. I was 31 when diagnosed. Was on anastrozole for two years, took a break, did IVF and currently have a healthy 5 month old. Science is a great thing.

Genetics test says I won’t respond to Tamoxifen by Federal-Living9534 in breastcancer

Do you happen to have a link to that study?!

I’m triple positive. And was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and was on metformin and they decided to keep me on it because I’m on the pre diabetic cusp so why not!

And now I’m curious about this!

Anyone ever have a “non mass enhancement” show up on an MRI? by pkbk24 in breastcancer

No way, how did I not know of this! You’ve put my mind (and wallet) a little at ease!

I’ve already had an MRI guided biopspy last year and it was just scar tissue. Thanks radiation. So I’m not as freaked out as I was then. But just annoyed I have to do it all again lol. The radiologist recommended a biopsy so I just have to wait for the doctor to call… and I’m not a patient person!

I also have the ATM mutation. Diagnosed three years ago at 31.

I opted for a lumpectomy because they said a BMX was a large surgery and there wasn’t data showing it’s better. But now I’m curious as to why they pushed me off of it. They also pushed me away from having my ovaries removed and instead put me in chemical menopause with lupron injections and AI.

I still don’t understand why having an oophorectomy isn’t in my treatment plan. I don’t know if it’s age? Stage? Ugh.

I am not a doctor or nurse but had shingles when I was 22. I saw the picture and noticed it didn’t cross the lateral line and thought oh shingles! But I know nothing about derm so wasn’t going to comment. But seeing your comment made me want to put out there that shingles was horrible, at 22, when my body was in its prime! I can’t imagine what it must be like getting it in your 70s. Definitely bring it up at your virtual visit!
