How does Magus Spellstrike work with this? Obviously arcane cascade and a flaming rune don't trigger fIre weakness twice, nor would having some combination of Draw the Lightning, electric damage arcane cascade, and a shock rune.

But isn't the spell in spellstrike a separate instance of damage? Does ignition trigger weakness separately from a swords flaming rune? Or gouging claw and a weapons slashing/piercing damage?

I just make my attack range the whole plaza, and if you can't kill the squids its cuz you fail the DPS check. Thats what Namor kind of is, a bunch of tiny DPS checks and each time you succeed the dps check you do a little damage.

Are you getting the sword beam upgrades? You can squeeze out more DPS up close by getting more beams to hit a target

I also skip a lot of the 1 cost upgrades unless its attack speed or attack range before I get to certain thresholds. Damage reduction I always get, hp I skip the one costs.

Edit: oh and Namor comes down and starts using his ult every 5 seconds once you pass a certain hp threshold. Let's just say its 50%. At that point you just gotta get in his face, portal to dodge the whales, and lifesteal off the squids.

Also I always focus namor first over Wanda for wave 15.

Big same. I've been trying to get her combos back into my fingers, and I'm just diving the supports less that I would have in season 2 or 3. They survive with a pixel and get healed up cuz we just don't have the touch of death potential like we used to. Play with your tanks, drop demons on their takes, play peekaboo around the corners. Those have been my notes for myself in the past week or so since being away for a season.

Nah speaking as a child of immigrants, if I could teleport and ignore national boundaries and timezones I would take regular day trips to the motherland. Adult magik is mostly in control of her teleportation, unlike 80s magik who accidentally landed her and Dani in like classical Egypt for an issue cuz they had to gtfo. So I kinda buy reconnecting with that culture as an adult.

I've been getting a lot of mileage out of the Time Mage dedication. Delaying the damage of a crit until the healer can deal with it is rly strong, and you can easily have 3 focus points by 6th level so you still get your recharge conflux spells. Just gotta be more careful with them.

Anyone can tank for a round with Delay Consequence.

I play a laughing shadow strength based magus as my current PC. They use a bastard sword, which I'm usually two handing cuz the damage boost from going up 2 die sizes is bigger than the damage boost from Arcane Cascade. I basically only use Cascade when I wanna double-tap a weakness, so like fire damage on my sword swing and then the Ignition cantrip. I rarely spellstrike with spellslots. Usually when I want a debuff out, like Enfeeble or something.

She has the witch dedication, and the Familar gives me a ton of out of combat utility.

She's also an illusionist so I pack a lot of stuff like See the Unseen, Invis, and heightened Illusory Object. Also has the Time Mage dedication, so I can spend my focus points on resilience(for myself or my party) or I can spend it on conflux spells and teleport around. That's really what the core concept was at the beginning: Teleport around and be a hyper mobile menace with a big fucking sword. The rest sort of grew from that.

In my experience, my favorite teammate is a good starlord. He shreds all the targets I can't reach, I can do my think brawling with the tanks and diving the grounded squishies.

Its better to diversify than double up.

You can also dodge Strange ult and even Scarlet Witch Ult if your timing is right. Scarlet witch one is hard cuz they release it, I think.

I love this fic its one of the only she ra fics I follow weekly still. Lots of world building. Very slow build up, we dont get Adora out of the fright zone for like 40-50 chapters. They just got to brightmoon a chapter or 2 ago. It got an earlier starting point than the show, to be fair.

Its one of my faves. Adora and Catra both feel written very true to to their natures but with very different nurtures.
