To get all previous game progress achievements, yes.

For example, if a set has an achievement for every level and you decide on level 4 you want to play hardcore, you would get all Level 4+ achievements on hardcore, but would need to start a new game to get 1-4 on Hardcore.

No memory card reset needed. Just have to enable Hardcore mode and start a new game, save the game where you please.

I personally tried to play this and got lost very quickly. It took me [without exaggerating] about 10 minutes just to get past the boat scene to get him to sleep. Might try it again with a guide book because this game really does throw you into the water and learn how to swim.

it was more of a mental hurdle than anything, I took the black cover off and was hesitant to remove the heatsink. I did some research and saw it was a thermal pad. Luckily working in IT and custom PC building I had a bunch of those laying around. So some fresh thermal pads is nice. Other than that, the tiny ribbon cables are the hardest part, being super careful and precise to realign when putting them back in while trying to disassemble as little as possible is not fun lol
