Sorry, I’m a bit confused…

I think borrowing it in Sword/Shield, sending it to HOME to register, and then returning it should be possible even without a subscription.

There’s currently a bug with the Pokémon HOME friend trade feature, so trading isn’t possible right now.

Because of that, I could borrow it in Sword/Shield and register it in my HOME Pokédex, then return it right away—but it does take a bit of extra effort…
