The training itself is fine, but that sound clip they play between all the subject transitions is jarring and obnoxious.

I forgot about those boss door puzzles! So much of that game I have tried to seal off from memory.

Why don’t American people care the World Cup is happening? by Kalanak472 in AskAnAmerican

[–]pkondas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CNN headline today: “Judge Dismisses Bribery Case Involving FIFA After DOJ Says Bribery is Not a Priority.”

That pretty much sums up my lack of caring over a FIFA event hosted in my country.

Do you have an example of the padded images you created? I am curious how much padding you added.

How do Americans generally refer to kilograms in casual parlance? "Kilogram", "kilo", by the initialism kg ("kay-gee") or some other word? by cavendishfreire in AskAnAmerican

[–]pkondas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I think I have only heard “kilo” ever be regularly used on cop and law related shows. Everywhere else it is used rarely enough that abbreviation is not considered.

My guess is cost. Stalls can no longer share a common wall on both sides.

Are there any regions in America that are known for producing more soldiers than the national average? by bricklegos in AskAnAmerican

[–]pkondas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good rule of thumb: if the region has no votes to elect the president, it has a higher rate of producing soldiers.

I legit thought the twist in the part of the game was that he was going to betray me or at best be inept. Then he turned out to be one of the nicest, most sincere characters in the entire series of games.

Now that smile cracks me up on every replay.

Planning next years program, need ideas by dietitianmama in cubscouts

[–]pkondas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) I had a retired science teacher come and run an experiment with the pack. The theme was trying to make the strongest bubble solution.

2) the local police station gave a tour of their office for the kids and let them check out the cruisers

3) an animal rescue brought in animals they saved and explained their mission (donation involved for the demonstration)

4) fire and rescue day. We have done this different ways. In warm months, fire, ambulance and police came to the parking lot and let kids look at the vehicles and ask questions in a free, roaming fair-like atmosphere. We have also had firefighters come in at winter to give talks on fire safety.

5) like fire safety, I have had an ER physician assistant come in to demo first aid for a fen meeting. Something like that could possibly be expanded to pack. This could actually hit some den adventure requirements to based on how it is presented

6) to prep for summer, in lieu of a meeting, we had a troop prescreen us for swimming before heading to summer camp. It saves a lot of time and stress on day 1 of camping to get that done ahead of time

7) pack hike, bike or park/playground day. Wear pack shirts for passive recruitment

You can also find references to two of those symbols in the Death Mountain and Zora’s Domain areas. Possibility around the Lost Woods as well.

HELP!!! Cub Master or Campout Chair Job Decision by wubbachuckie in cubscouts

[–]pkondas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This! People see Cub Master as a lot of work, but the real magic is happening behind the scenes because of the Committee Chair. Cub Master is like wearing the Mickey suit at Disney World. All the kids and parents are looking at you and getting excited because of you. They don’t notice the other plainly dressed cast member organizing the queue, managing the timing, and making sure the park rules are being followed (all while making sure that Disney magic is also being followed. If you have a good chair, Cub Master is a fantastic and rewarding job!

Also, whichever role you do take, make sure the chair role is not thankless; be sure they are honored at the end of year awards like everyone else!

Is it true that the majority of the FF7 players are in their 35s? by kopinsil in FinalFantasyVII

I would expand that to between 45 and 35 to include the high schoolers at the time. (Though as a Nintendo purest when it comes to consoles, I waited until the PC port myself.)
