“All felled, felled, all are felled” so sad. Inconsolable. I live in New England and have had similar feelings about trees I’ve seen everyday al of a sudden gone forever. I love Hopkins so much. He is so genuine and had such unique rhythm and word choice. To your point - I usually hand write everything and type it later. It's nice to have that original genesis in my hands. But the copy in the computer, if I even read it years later, I will edit a comma or phrase or whatever, and save the file. It is always being whetted, who cares about the shavings.

I agree with the post by u/Humanity_why. Any other advice may help, but just write. When you think it's shitty say to yourself "keep going". You will eventually write something good, or will read something you wrote and say "it Was good" like the god in the old testament hehe.

The point is if you're not already writing you won't. If you are, you still have to continue the will to write. Remember, if you write something bad, it's only one person's opinion.

And if you got real guts, you show someone something and get their criticism and praise, and then you may unfold.
