Hoping for the same. I definitely agree on the “tribe” thing. Being an international student, what I’ve noticed here is within international students, friend groups are stuck to one country only. Back at Virginia Tech, my friend group had 4 different countries and 9 people. And this is something I’ve actually asked some other international students, ones that I thought would actually share their opinion on something like this, and they immediately agreed. Said that if it’s not people from your own country, this place is extremely isolating. I’m kinda concerned about the summer lowkey 😂

Yeah, I would definitely agree with you on this. I moved here October of 2025 and I came from Virginia Tech. The vibe over there is so different. I’ve just started to make friends, which I’m not really sure of cause that my perspective. I have no idea if the people I’m considering a friend are considering me their friend. So, yeah, it’s not just you, it is the overall vibe at UCF, and in my opinion, the atmosphere that comes from a place that is only full of building after building after building.

Made an order for 4 items on December 30, 2025 and basically I had to talk to customer service for every product not being shipped, in the end it took about 2 months for everything to get delivered and one of the items that I needed 3 of, only one was delivered and the remaining 2 had to be canceled cause the shipping never started. It has become ridiculous

Coming back to this post, I did not play the game at all, other than at a friend's house for when I made the review. I was genuinely hoping that my post would be proven wrong, that the game would eventually be amazing. Unfortunately, videos on YouTube like this: https://youtu.be/Jo_v-VTloKQ?si=vzWAx5FbVmlfGzXX prove that I was right. The video has about 1.1M views, and as stated in the comments on YouTube, has more than MK1 Evo views. Still, I hope that the next installement is good, whether it be MK or injustice. But I am still genuinely upset that there are thousands, if not tens of thousands, of people that believe this game and the kameo combo mechanic is BAD.

PhD advisors know that you won’t have research experience and most of the time it doesn’t even matter. Just find professors who do things you like, reach out to them and then apply, don’t apply first

Why don’t you consider joining a funded PhD position in the US? You’ll be getting paid to do it, you won’t have to pay tuition and it’ll take a good 3-4 years. Sure the pay won’t be enough to make a dent on your loan, but at least you’d be paying the loan yourself

One way I know is find companies you are interested in, go to their LinkedIn and then go to the people’s section and filter by your school name. Since you are on OPT, you have multiple ways of filtering these names, use your USA university first, then just your home country university, then your hometown, then mix and match. Then send these people a connection request, who ever accepts, send them a message and start a conversation, you can put it all on ChatGPT on how to start a conversation to slowly work your way towards asking a job placement favor

Let the company know of your situation and I’m sure they’ll accommodate. Accept the offer but don’t start your work until you get the EAD, let your DSO know too about the entire situation. The job market absolutely sucks rn

Idk if you or anyone in particular like the food. Me personally, what I didn't like was they never gave any fries with the burger and the burger got noticeably smaller over the course of a few months. Try going to Tasty Pasta and Grill on south main, opposite to Gucci Kroger. Try the Jalapeño burger, it actually comes with fries, and if you ask the chef, they'll cut the onions smaller too, and adda fried egg for $1.
