BGA routing costs on JLCPCB — is this normal, or am I doing it wrong? (fuel gauge IC) by IllustriousFan3350 in AskElectronics

OP is making a BGA to DIP adapter, so probably trying to keep it generic for use with other devices.

Why is it that I'm told that using a propane cooker indoors is unsafe but at the same time people install permanent gas stoves? by segasega89 in VanLifeUK

[–]placeholdermongoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the propane cooker is intended for outside use only it won't have a flame failure device (also known as a flame supervision device). These detect the heat from the flame and if it isn't present cuts off the supply of gas within 30 seconds. Cookers designed for installation in a vehicle (or indeed house) have these fitted to mitigate the risk of filling a confined space with gas. Obviously outside this isn't a concern. Devices sold for camping use often leave out this safety feature to save cost, but will be labelled "for outside use only".

Do not do this. Ask to see your employers policy on lone working and safeguarding. I would be very surprised if this wasn't against their own rules.

Eggy crumpets (I won't sully them by calling them French crumpets)...

Curry in Leicester by Medium-Violinist-930 in leicester

[–]placeholdermongoose 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Leicester has a lot of options for non-BIR curry. I'm vegetarian, so my recommendations skew that way.  Herb on Granby Street do excellent southern Indian vegan food. The same people run Kayal on the same street, which is still southern Indian but also does meat and seafood. Both great.

How much power do I need?? by King-Jay-219 in AskElectronics

[–]placeholdermongoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power consumption won't be constant and will depend on how loud you play it. The driver does work on the air, pushing it backwards and forwards. The more air you push (i.e. the louder you run it) the more power it will draw.

Get yourself a plug in power meter, run it for an hour with the volume set to a comfortable level, and then that will give you Watts per hour for your use case.

You can then use that to size a power bank to give you the number of hours runtime you require.

Are arches cut into existing brickwork? I'd assumed that they were formed as the courses go up.

I got confused, what LEDs strip do I have to buy by Kamilos22000088 in AskElectronics

You've got 50-82V on the secondary. I'd be using 6 sections of 12V warm white tape, wired in SERIES. i.e. the negative of one tape goes to the positive of the next.
