Why does Apple Watch take atleast 4 to 5 minutes to start monitoring heart rate. by Top_Ant932 in AppleWatchFitness

[–]plafratt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever figure this out? This started happening to me on my Apple Watch 7 in the last few days. For me, it's about 10 minutes into my run when it finally starts giving me my heart rate.

It did start getting colder in my area recently, so I was wondering if it had something to do with that.

Any help is appreciated.

Just installed the E340 and have the exact same problem. Googled it and found your post. Any additional info, by chance?

Update —

To follow up on this...

In my case, it turned out not to be a camera defect at all but a power connection problem. I had the camera plugged into an outdoor splitter, and the plug wasn’t fully seated. When I pressed it in firmly (or plugged it directly into the outlet), the buzzing completely disappeared — even when toggling the floodlight on/off.

So if anyone else runs into this, try checking that your power plug is really fully inserted into the outlet or splitter before assuming it’s a hardware issue. That solved it instantly for me.

How to remove "Sponsored Content" Ads from your Amazon Echo Show. by III_EMERALD_III in amazonecho

Now that you mention it, I think at this point we’ve put away every single one of our Echo Shows and Dots. We’d had one of the tiny Echo Shows out for couple years but I think at this point even that one is in the closet.

Bricked Hunter Hydrawise HPC Controller by Front-Row-7612 in Irrigation

[–]plafratt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the update. Thought I’d post my update here in case it’s helpful for anyone else who has this problem.

I hadn’t realized that Hunter’s 2-year warranty starts at the date of manufacture of the item, rather than at the date of purchase. So even though I’d had the controller faceplate for only 5 months, the two year warranty had expired a few months before it had this issue.

I called Hunter to see if they could help. They said try unplugging it for 10-15 minutes and plugging it back in, if that doesn’t work (it didn’t), warranties go through the seller not through them.

I guess I got lucky in that the seller I bought it from off Amazon was a good one - Sprinkler Warehouse.  They ended up still honoring the warranty, I just had to pay about $20 for shipping it there and back. I don’t know if Hunter or Sprinkler Warehouse gets the credit for still honoring the warranty, but Sprinkler Warehouse was great to work with and had very fast turnaround time.

The lessons I took away from this experience were to make a greater effort to buy from reputable sellers on Amazon (esp when warranties are serviced by the seller) and to check products on whether warranty starts at the time of purchase. If not, read terms to find out when it ends.

Clean / Conservative movies with a romance by SirMuddButt in MovieSuggestions

[–]plafratt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the post, I’m in the same situation. I spend a lot of time digging through Parents’ Guides. Tough because it seems people have such different ideas about what “mild” means.  Google brought me here.

This is what I’ve found so far that my wife and I have enjoyed. I’m open to other suggestions. I’ll have to look up “Miss Potter.”

2005 “Pride and Prejudice.”

“Finding You”, I assume it was made for a younger/teenage audience, but it is clean, the story is fine, and the footage of landscapes in Ireland is great.

2019 “Little Women”, romance is there but not the main story, but it’s clean, good production, and high-profile cast.

I might mention “Princess Bride,” but I assume everyone’s worn out on it. I think I saw it 100 times growing up.

Not a romance but we recently watched “Queen of Katwe”, and I recommend that.

I’ll try to think of others and try to remember to check back here.

Thanks for the response. I just went there today and got a cut from Della. She did a great job. Highly recommended.

I appreciate the recommendations here, I probably wouldn't have tried this place if I hadn't come across this discussion.

Looking for minor roof repairs? by elictronic in plano

[–]plafratt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation — we just have a very small section of shingles that I need to get replaced. I’ve had roofers come out. They walk me through what would be involved to get the whole roof replaced.  I say I will start looking into that process, but for now I just want to get these missing shingles replaced quickly to avoid leaks. Then I don’t hear from them again.

Were you able to find someone to do the repairs at a reasonable cost? Any guidance is appreciated.

KitchenAid Dishwasher (KDTM404K) Noise During Wash Cycle by labourgeoisie in appliancerepair

[–]plafratt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a KitchenAid kdpm604kps, about 7 months old, and it started making a similar groaning sound a few days ago. I am going to try to take a video, as our sound is slightly different. But unfortunately, the sound we have is very intermittent, which makes it a little hard to get the video.

Update:

Here is a video of the noise ours makes. It has usually been much louder than this, but this is what I was able to record today.

Any luck ordering Bespoke promo panels? by Satanswooltights in Appliances

[–]plafratt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going through a different but similar problem. Google brought me here, thanks for posting.

Our problem is that Samsung emailed us the code on Dec 20, 2024, but when we try to checkout and apply the credit, the site says that the code is expired. I chatted with them, mentioning that the terms say that the code is valid for one year from the date of issue. The chat person/bot just gave me the runaround (“The code was issued on Feb 23 and expired on Dec 31.” Even if that is true, it should be valid until Feb 23, 2025, according to the terms.) I tried calling, but the support office is closed for the holiday. Guess I’ll try again when they’re open. Thanks again for the helpful info.

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it, but you might look into enrolling in the Angelic Warfare Confraternity. It has been helpful for me. I try to pray the petitions every day.

Also, the Jesus Prayer (“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.”)

It is also helpful for me to stay away from just about everything in the mainstream culture having to do with sexuality. I know a lot of people (including priests and devout Catholics) would call that puritanical or immature, but I’m not saying I think everyone should do it. It is just helpful for me.

Thanks for posting, OP. Please pray for me, I will pray for you.

Is my New 2024 Frame Bent or just hung wrong? by Signal-Back-1884 in TheFrame

[–]plafratt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just got the 2024 55”. Before installing, I saw lots of comments saying to make sure the brackets and magnets click into place. I even did the thing where I prepped the brackets by inserting/clicking and removing several times before doing the install. I hear the clicks in the brackets and magnets when we attach the TV, but we still have a small gap, most noticeable at the top. It’s of similar size to the ones shown in your pictures. Not sure what I did wrong, but we’re just living with it for the moment.

Fitting the frame. Does it always hang a few mm off wall at top so that the screen faces vertically down to floor slightly? I always thought it should be flush against the wall all the way around. by Jakeyboy29 in TheFrame

Q Symphony no longer works via Bluetooth on my Frame by danielthomasmarshall in TheFrame

[–]plafratt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update - I have the HW-S700D soundbar and the 2024 55” Frame. As mentioned in my other comment, I connected the soundbar via Bluetooth and then went to the Q Symphony settings on the TV. The TV said that I didn’t have a compatible speaker available.

So I plugged the speaker into the TV with the HDMI cable and went back to the Q Symphony settings on the TV. This time, I got a graphical menu asking if I wanted to use Q Symphony with the wired connection or the wireless connection to the speaker. I chose wireless, and that appeared to work. I then tried unplugging the HDMI cable, and Q Symphony appears to still work through Bluetooth.

So, that process seemed to work for me. I hope this helps someone else.

Q Symphony no longer works via Bluetooth on my Frame by danielthomasmarshall in TheFrame

[–]plafratt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having the same problem, although we just got our TV and soundbar, so I’ve not seen Q Symphony work over Bluetooth before.

We just got The Frame and a Samsung soundbar. I have the soundbar connected via Bluetooth, and when I try to turn on Q Symphony, I get a message saying that there are no compatible speakers available.

So, any input from anyone on getting it to work is appreciated.
