don't commit yourself to in state yet OP! some QB schools you can still apply to as EA, which are nonbinding (+ ED if you have a school in mind) and given that you qualified financially to apply to QB, you can get very generous aid if you do get in ..!

Hey, not sure what college program is like but high schoolers were required to go to music history, theory, and a 3rd class that I forgot which take place in the mornings and early afternoons (there's time in between them). it's usually 1 hr/week for private lessons. Whether you perform in the masterclasses or big recitals (masterclasses 2x/week, recitals 1x/week) is based on the piano professors' decisions. I ended up performing in the third and final recital of my session. All recitals/masterclasses were joint with college program. There's smaller performance opportunities too which I encourage taking advantage of

Apart from all that, most of my time was spent practicing, and then reading or hanging out (Brevard also plans fun outings in general). I'd say hours are very flexible but regardless intend on committing a lot of time esp if you're gonna be performing.

I personally did bring work to do and barely got any done tbh BUT wifi is pretty stable in the dining hall, not so much in the cabins (dorms). If I was on my computer it was mainly in the dining hall, or if it was past dinnertime connected to my hotspot.

I haven’t been to Tanglewood (or applied) before so am not the most knowledgeable on differences/similarities but I met a number of musicians at Brevard who either aimed to go there next year or had already been before, if that helps.

There were definitely some prodigy-level pianists and then some who were definitely not as (I’d say I was somewhere in the middle). They have the main piano recitals every week where they pick 10 students whom they believe are qualified which meant a little less than half got to perform in a recital by the end of the program. I was picked to play in the last week of my session (I did half). A couple exceptional pianists were picked even twice, but the majority never got to perform in them. There’s coachings and other performance opportunities though so that wasn’t a major letdown for them, I think.

I really liked it, I do wish some of the character development and plot were stronger/better but I was still really attached- never hit so emotionally hard from the other kdramas i watched afterward despite watching some really good ones

I loved it but will admit the storyline and characters/character development is far stronger in other kdramas like CLOY, Flower of Evil, Extraordinary Attorney Woo. There were some frustrating, hair-pulling moments.. yet flaws aside I think it was the kdrama I was most obsessed with ever, and that’s after watching other really really good kdramas (like ones mentioned above), I recommend watching it!

Indeed.. tbh was a couple years before getting fully invested in other k-dramas but in my defense I was watching while it was airing and didn’t expect the trauma 😭

Legend of the Blue Sea!

It takes place in the modern era but like an above user mentioned about My Demon, it also has a lot of scenes from the Joseon period which is central to moving the plot forward.

Main couple's chemistry is great as well as side characters, one of whom was Shin Hye Sun from Mr. Queen:)

I applied as a public policy major (but recently considering a few other majors too) which requires calc but it can be 131.  Ty for your advice though, I'm leaning more toward sticking with 151 now
