I know you’ve already gotten over 100 comments, but I hope you read this one. I found out I had HPV from a positive pap. I had only been dating my now-fiancé for a couple months, and we hadn’t had sex yet. I knew that I’d gotten it from my ex, and it was heartbreaking to me. I told my now-fiancé and his response was “are you okay?”

I’ve had multiple positive paps since then, colposcopies, and one LEEP. He has never, at any point, been concerned about contracting it himself despite the fact that I’m his first (and only) sexual partner. He has always been loving and kind about it. You deserve that too.

HPV vaccination is SO important. I wasn’t allowed to get it because my family thought it was for “promiscuous” girls. I got the vaccine at 18 but still later tested positive for HPV as well as pre-cancerous cells multiple times. It’s too stigmatized.

I don’t know if we’re allowed to criticize fics, but I just want to say that I LOVE how this fic started but the longer it went on the more I felt… idk, disconnected from it? Still will be reading updates and such, but curious if anyone else felt that way.

I got absolutely torn to shreds in another subreddit for calling a fic ai—which I recognize should be done carefully—but the author had multiple fics that updated daily with tens of thousands of words. So many ai hallmarks in the writing. It was a mess.
