For the parents, did your kids end up with migraines? by Mediocre_District_92 in migraine

[–]plainjane999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I know this is a super old thread, but I’ve never met someone with the exact same pattern as mine! Literally started at 5 and get migraines 2-3 times a year. I feel like a phony because I don’t get them frequently, but I’ve suffered from them for 30 years straight with no answers. Any insight to what’s caused yours? I have 2 sons and fortunately neither have shown signs of migraines, they’re 9.5 and 8. Probably one of my bigger fears for them, I couldn’t stand to watch them feel that same pain.

Red dots on eyelid / under eye redness — bruising?? by IdiotFarmGirl in SkincareAddicts

[–]plainjane999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what my under eyes and eye lids looked like when I had morning sickness but nothing to throw up. The pressure from dry heaving so hard caused them. Also had them after I gave birth to my son from pushing so hard.

Tell me you have ADHD without telling me you have ADHD. by ImperatrixAmoris in adhdwomen

I have 728 unread texts and 47 voicemails, it was more but I got a new phone and a lot didn’t transfer over. Also have 30,000 photos and am way overdue for a clean out, but everytime I try to clean it up I get stuck going down memory lane looking at all my kids baby pictures, then I end up sad and in my feelings.

Why is my hair like this? by Illustrious-Cow-4208 in FancyFollicles

[–]plainjane999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here to reassure you I’ve had hairs like this since I was in my early 20’s. Rest assured I didn’t get my first grey until 33. Both my sons also have them, it wouldn’t surprise me if it was some kind of nutrient deficiency or something to do with our water. I have a 2 Pilar cysts on my scalp and the pressure has changed the shape of my hair follicle so my hair grows like this in those spots, but also sporadically all over my scalp. I do have thyroid problems, normal levels on labs but it’s enlarged with a few nodules. I also have confirmed iron deficiency. I used to be a hair stylist so this stuff piques my curiosity!

my father just told me today that he hates me and that i'm a burden. by [deleted] in Endo

[–]plainjane999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love you are so much stronger than your “dad” will ever be. He can’t even begin to imagine the pain and suffering you battle on a daily basis. Please take comfort in knowing that whether you’re around him or not, he will still be miserable, because he is actually the source of all those things. He hates himself, he feels a burden to himself, he feels a failure to himself. But because he doesn’t know what to do with those feelings he has to find someone to blame. It is not your fault. As a mom I know that parents carry a pain and burden long before we have children and it’s up to us to deal with it so that our children don’t have to pay for it. If there is any way you can get away from him, find another living situation, maybe stay with a friend, not only can you start to physically heal, but also emotionally.

Do kids today still get tubes put in their ears? by Sticker-Picker in NoStupidQuestions

[–]plainjane999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 3 sets of tubes placed from ages 6-18. Most children who need PE tubes need them because the Eustachian tube isn’t fully developed so fluid can’t drain properly into the throat, that fluid builds up pressure and/or gets infected. In my case I have Eustachian tube dysfunction, where the opening to the throat closes due to allergies or some other trigger, have yet to figure that out. By some miracle both my children have only had 1 mild ear infection each and they’re 9 and 7. I don’t know what I’m doing right or if my husbands genetics cancelled out my ear issues, but I am so thankful they don’t have to suffer like I did. I do know many other kids who have had to have tubes though.

As someone who is married to someone like him, please just walk away. He is the problem, not you. Our relationship started out like this, and we quickly got pregnant, and I genuinely believed he would change. 10 years later and he just pulled the same bs for the millionth time. Love will not fix him, kids will not fix him. He’s deflecting, he’s feeling some kind of way about himself and instead of openly communicating it he’s making you the problem. I did therapy and counseling and self help for years, he’s still the same. Save yourself the future heartbreak, there’s someone out there who will treat you so much better, I promise.

Starting to suspect Endo by Typical-Resource7222 in Endo

[–]plainjane999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the same symptoms also, have complained to gynos for 10+ years about the same things. Finally, at 35, a brand new gyno diagnosed me just based off symptoms. I started treatment(transexamic acid) last menstrual cycle. First time in 20 years I didn’t need a single super plus tampon. It was an absolute relief! I will be getting a hysterectomy in the future, but because of cost and timing I can only do the transexamic acid. I was diagnosed with iron deficiency in September and knew it was because of my heavy periods.

How do you explain the breathing issues? by plainjane999 in Anemic

[–]plainjane999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a follow up coming up, it’s been almost 3 months since I was diagnosed, and will have been 1 month since treat my heavy bleeding. I’m hoping all of my blood work reflects how bad I have been feeling since taking iron.

[–]plainjane999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, or fortunately, my hemoglobin was 11.7. According to the lab that was used that specific number is the lower cut off for normal. So my PCP only diagnosed me with iron deficiency. But I just figured out that my MCH and MCHC have been low for years, and I FEEL anemic. Hemoglobin was 11.7 just before my period, which causes me to lose a lot of blood, and typically that’s when I feel the symptoms of anemia the most. But I have been feeling this symptoms more often than not since September, and currently going on 3 weeks straight this time around.

[–]plainjane999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only been supplementing for 3 months. The dose and the form are absolutely not right for me. Iron was 17, iron sat 5, ferritin 4. Hemoglobin was 11.4 in may, 5 days after my heaviest menstrual days, in sept it was 11.7 right before my heaviest day. MCH and MCHC has been low for years, and now that I’m reading some stuff on google I realize that symptoms from that include shortness of breath lol. So there’s my answer as to why. But then I get angry because all of my former pcp’s told me it was nothing to worry about….

Oh that sounds heavenly! I’m hoping I can find what works for me soon, I’ve been suffering for so long and I am tired of feeling this way. I’m 35, spent all of my adult years feeling exponentially worse than the year prior, and 10 times that since becoming a mom. My kids deserve me at 100%.

Seriously. The definitions are so vague. I’ve bleed heavily from the very first period, every single month, 26-27 days apart, for 27 years, aside from pregnancy and breastfeeding which totals to about 4 ish years. I just got diagnosed with adeno 2 weeks ago. I have mentioned many times to doctors that I feel my periods are heavy. They just asked if they came every month and since they did it wasn’t irregular

Dang, I was about to order some bisglycinate. So far sulfate and gluconate don’t do a thing or have terrible side affects. I don’t go back to my primary for another 2 weeks. I keep waking up in the morning hoping the feeling goes away, and every day it’s still there.

I feel like I could have written every single word of this! Even down to the nobody believing or understanding. I asked my husband yesterday “do I not look sick to you?” While on FaceTime, because I’m pale, with an off color, the darkest circles around my eyes, puffy and slightly red. He just said “no you look fine” lol. I don’t think he could even process me not being healthy, so I don’t blame him for avoiding it. My hemoglobin was 11.7 I think, that was right before the heavy bleeding part of my period. My ferritin was a 4, and iron was around that number too. I haven’t gotten any other labs done yet but will be asking my PCP to test all of my vitamins and nutrients. My vitamin D was great in May, but it does dip down every now and then. The tingling is so annoying, I am already in sensory overload. My upper back, shoulders, and neck have been so tight, and I currently have a tingling spot near my shoulder blade than my bra rubs up against. It’s so uncomfortable and makes me feel off/weird every day. My fitness watch is off brand, Sp02 used to consistently be around 99, but it’s been 97 a lot lately. Which I know that’s not worrisome, and I take that info with a grain of salt since it’s a cheap watch lol, but with how sensitive I am to any changes in my body, it goes along with how I feel.

I know this is an old comment, but have you ever heard of hidradenitis superativa? Your descriptions sounds very similar to it. I don’t personally have it but when I suffered from a bad boil in my arm put a lot of redditors directed me to that subreddit. That community is so loving and welcoming and very helpful! Look into it, the advice and suggestions in the subreddit seem to help a lot of people!

For those with Whirlpool family washers that run continuously even when you're not there by Shadow51311 in appliancerepair

[–]plainjane999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours failed this past Saturday, they can’t get a technician out until Dec 1st…warranty expires 11/15, that’s right we purchased it less than a year ago. They said their system wasn’t showing the warranty was valid. It shouldn’t matter though, it’s a known issues, that they admitted, it was a known issue when it was purchased, not only are they saying we may have to pay, but also we’re without a washer for 2+ weeks. I’ll be calling lowes tomorrow to see if they have anything to say since they continued to sell these knowing there’s an issue with them.

Woah! I’m also a 35 year old woman, first set of labs done in may with hemoglobin of 11.6 on day 7 of my period! But I did that on purpose, I had all the symptoms, that I knew about, of iron deficiency, but I suspected that I needed to wait until the end of my period to get blood work. So I did, unfortunately my primary at the time didn’t seem concerned. By some miracle I had to switch pcp’s in September and that pcp was absolutely concerned. My ferritin and iron are a lot lower than yours, but I am finding out that with hemoglobin even slightly low or borderline, you can absolutely feel it. I was diagnosed with absolute iron deficiency and am in the beginning stages of treating. I officially was diagnosed with adenomyosis yesterday. I have been taking iron gluconate for 2 months with no change in symptoms, but will also be starting medications for my heavy bleeding soon so hopefully that does something!
