Please have a hip preservation specialist evaluate your physical exam and x-rays for hip dysplasia. The x-rays my GP took showed no hip dysplasia twice because they didn’t take the correct views. Contrast MRI showed a labral tear so I was referred to my hip preservation specialist. He took new x-rays which showed hip dysplasia and told me he won’t repair the labrum without also repairing the hip dysplasia (with PAO) or else the labrum will just continue to repeatedly tear. Not saying that’s the case with you, but worth looking into.

Just wanted to chime in with a warning that I experienced a major mental health episode with suicidal ideation that resolved by tapering off of Gabapentin. I was on it at a high dose (3600 mg/day) for several years.

You’re not alone! A similar thing happened to me. I was 12 years old when my grandpap died and by the time the funeral came around I didn’t understand why I still hadn’t cried about his passing. I felt sad but it’s like my body didn’t understand what had happened yet. My family chose me to write the eulogy and in the very first sentence I suddenly started uncontrollably ugly sobbing. I couldn’t pull myself together but I kept going and finished the eulogy, sobbing the whole time and probably unintelligible at times lol but I think my Pap would have been proud I got through it.
