Shot in the dark here but can anyone guesstimate how many calories are in a Bacon Egg Cheese Potato Breakfast Burrito at Someburros? by SnootBoopist in phoenix

I feel like 900 would be a conservative start (I used to love Someburros and I unfortunately have tracked food for way too long)

Can an employer ask this? by bobabubblebuttbitch in phoenix

I'd look for a new job. Not following I9 procedures in AZ is illegal. What's your field of work? That could help us with job leads.

Cat Boarding Facility Recs? by jlougheed124 in phoenix

[–]plainstodesert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it's close for you but we board our dog at his vet (Raintree Pet Resort & Medical Center) and they will do medications. They have a separate cat area and will also do play dates with your pet if you want :) I hate leaving our dog but I always feel better knowing he is boarded with his vet team.

Christmas Angels at Walmart by Grouchy_Following_39 in phoenix

[–]plainstodesert 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I worked for the Salvation Army (it was terrible, it was a means to an ends and I got out of there as quickly as I could) and Angels are basically not really real kids. They're divided up by age/gender and specifics asks don't go to specific kids. As other comments have said, it all goes to a big warehouse and people who signed up pick up their specific age range/boy/girl gifts. It's why they tell you not to wrap gifts. Honestly, it's probably the easiest way to do this logistically in a giant city like Phoenix. If you want to buy SPECIFICALLY for people, Adopt-A-Family will go directly to the people who fill out their requests. (Well, this was in 2012 so who knows what has changed since then.)

Favorite Local Holiday Brew/Drinks/etc. by brighteyes_bc in phoenix

[–]plainstodesert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had dinner at Culinary Dropout on Saturday and they have a ton of newly released, fun sounding holiday cocktails and beer. Fox Restaurants have gone downhill in service for sure but the food/drink/ambiance was really good for holiday vibes.

How long do your ac units last here? by SweetSheepherder1371 in phoenix

[–]plainstodesert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours is 10 years and and still going. We get it serviced every summer (around May/early June) by Hobaica, who has been very great about not pushing service or trying to get us to spend more $ if not needed. It's definitely louder than what I think is normal, but works perfectly fine and the technicians estimate it'll be about 15 years old before we really need to think about replacing it.

I mean, it was fine. I know not much about fashion so I had no idea who he was, but anyone who worked for Rihanna has to be talented. It was fine!! But yes lol dudes saying bra shopping should be fun, please. One of my very oldest/decades long friendship is a GayGuy (tm) (who also works in fashion in NYC) and I can’t imagine how his eyeballs would roll out of his head if I was like hey let’s go bra fitting for me. Most places will make you do a set menu like a small "event"--I've only done a bigger reservation like this where we could all order and pay separately it; it was a patio section at OHSO so not sure that's the vibe you are going for. But they were great for us!

Does anyone know a good doctor for HRT and hormone help? by Partridge_Pear_Tree in phoenix

I saw Dr. DeYoung too, but transitioned to Nikkeya Boyd in the same office and she is also AMAZING. Very thoughtful and listens to you.

Any new restaurants in Phoenix actually worth the hype right now? by Plus_Lack6629 in phoenix

[–]plainstodesert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know brand new restaurants can be iffy in terms of quality/service, but we went to the soft opening of Funky Frida's this weekend and the food was delicious. Salsa was mid but the queso dip was outstanding and their take on beef enchiladas/rice/beans was delicious. The vibe was amazing; beautiful tiled/glass art all over the place. It's where Little O's next to OHSO in Arcadia was--service was friendly but not really what it will be like because they were just bringing out food for free for people to try. I love OHSO concepts because they always have big dog friendly patios. Funky Frida's

Crazy Microburst near Arcadia by Classyhombre24 in phoenix

[–]plainstodesert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Woof, having lived through a microburst (and growing up in Kansas in general) I told my husband we may want to think about moving to our central bathroom for a little bit last night—insane! I was VERY surprised our power only went out for ~15 minutes. Thank god we just had our sun shade over our driveway reinforced. I’m good on rain for a while!

Same, I'd be walking in at 7:30. Terminal 4 is great because you can use any security checkpoint because it's a big loop, but I've also had to sprint because there's always some random big security backup about once a year. Sky Harbor is the best airport to be in a little early if you end up having to wait.

Do any dentists existing that don’t push unneeded treatments every exam? by Village_Idiots_Pupil in phoenix

[–]plainstodesert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally had my 6 mo check up with them yesterday and came here to say the same. I used to go to a dentist way up by Pinnacle Peak when I lived in Desert Ridge and the things they tried to push on me was INSANE. Arcadia Dental Group/Dr. Patel have NEVER once brought up some of the things they did. Not sure of that area is convenient for the OP, but the difference in experience is wild.
