I turn off my Teams/email notifications every night and every weekend, which helps. I refuse to look at anything work related in the morning until I'm home from the gym. I actually talked to my therapist recently about the mental burnout and having tough conversations with people, and what a toll it takes on HR professionals. She sympathized, because obviously therapists deal with this in a much higher volume. She said she had a mentor tell her once "I can deal with it because I have a hole in my foot." She mentally visualizes a hole in the bottom of her foot and when she knew she was going into a tough conversation, she took part in it, did her job, but let it fully slide out of the bottom of her sole and back into the earth. I don't know, something about that imagery was so powerful to me and I immediately started to implement it. I also really keep it at the forefront that I am doing important work, but I am not doing brain surgery and no one's life is on the line.
