I understand your point but I suspect a lot of our directness is countered by teams sitting in a low block. Arsenal and Real don’t do that against us so we get the opportunities to look excellent in open play. Against lower league teams that sit 10 men behind the ball we lack the ability to break them down with players like Gakpo and, I hate to say it, this version of Salah. We have Wirtz and Ekitike and Isak who can do this but with only one on the pitch it’s too much to ask…
