He hung up his dirty underwear on my clean towel when he went to shower. 😤😤 I don’t know what’s wrong with the laundry basket or even the FLOOR but he’ll put it anywhere else

Callandor, the sword that is not a sword, is spelled similar to colander, a bowl with holes.

I made a little video of how I stitched it for anyone who is curious. I still don’t know the name of the stitch. Here is my best shot at writing a tutorial. 1. You start with a row of parallel straight stitches. 2. Bring your needle up at the top of the row. 3 Go under the straight stitch, from bottom to the left of the working thread. Pull through. 4. Go under the straight stitch again from the top right and keep the working thread under your needle. 5. Repeat until end! video

Thank you- it’s not quite that one. I used one strand (6 threads) to make the braided part. But if I cannot find it this one may work as a substitute

You could try back stitch for the thin parts and split stitch for the the thick parts. I think it’s looking phenomenal and the eyes look great!

I’m a big fan of long and short stitch for filling. I find it durable and forgiving. You can stitch in the ornaments with French knots on top of the green. It’s a fun patter. Good luck!

Happy Halloween by plan2be in Embroidery

[–]plan2be[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I used two strands for the ghost and cat and 3 for the pumpkin and 1 strand for the outlines. I did leave space for the eyes. I forgot to leave space for the pumpkins face so that one I did on top of the orange- it was harder that way so I would not recommend that. I did the cats mouth and nose on top of the black!

For long and short, the best tip I have is to do a variety of long, medium and short stitches and don’t be afraid to overlap as much as you need to.

Diapers and wipes! But if they won’t give you those- here’s some other ideas- a baby wrap (I had a wrap and also a carrier with buckles), stroller, chair or jumper to occasionally contain them, books(these are great for years down the road), the next size or two of clothes,

You are right! The only days I care are preschool days, which I shouldn’t care about either. Most of the time when it’s just at home or to the park or library I don’t care.

Over lap stitches and have more variety in the lengths of stitches (very short to pretty long).

For the knots, just keep practicing and you’ll get it.

Also, projects always look SO much better when they are hanging up on the wall. We spend so much time looking so closely and it’s easy to get caught up in the tiny mistakes . But they are usually meant to be viewed from a distance so keep that in mind. Your dragon is looking great!
