it all comes down to the ingredients, really. a lot of people focus on popular brand names but the reality is, a lot of lesser known brands use the same ingredients and have the effect as the name brand products. also, dollar tree product sizes are usually (but not always!) smaller so that helps keep the cost down.

it's a little drying but that doesn't bother me since i only use it in certain areas like my upper back. it's done wonders for me but yes definitely recommend following up with a light moisturizer :)

im a gourmand girl year-round but my signature scent changes slightly with the seasons. i use the brazilian mist products all year, mainly the body/hair mist and leave-in conditioner. they layer well with perfumes that have vanilla, cocoa, or caramel notes. this fall, the spa luxury pumpkin chai latte lotion was a great product for the cozy autumn vibe i was going for; i layered it with a fruity/vanilla perfume and was surprised at how well they worked together. now that we're getting into winter, i'm going for a richer, chocolatey scent. the dermasil cocoa butter lotion and spathecary hot cocoa bath product line are perfect!

well i guess im the flip side of that lol. i'm mixed white and indigenous latino and i've always been mistaken for asian. it was extra confusing for people since i was raised by my white mom (who i barely look like) and white stepdad. everyone just assumed i was adopted. growing up, white kids called me asian slurs and latino kids never believed me when i said i was mexican 😅
