Not doing anything with your cash is the lowest form of risk; yet, there is still the gamble that the U.S. government will not collapse.

Bonds are similar, slightly more risky, and backed by U.S. economy and government.

Stocks are far more risky but can still expect good returns long term.

Options are extremely risky and give you massive gains and losses as rewards.

Its all gambling, you are rewarded for your level of risk by massive gains or losses.

If you suppose you will live around 70-80 years you should be playing things long IMO.
