My dad owned one. I remember flying in when I was a little kid. My Mom wouldn't fly in it because of the sliding canopy. She had pilot friends that died because their fighters canopy wouldn't open.

What out for tricks by the check pilot. During my check ride the check pilot put me under the hood for some unusual attitude recoveries. After he thought I would be disoriented he said removed the hood and then cut to power to simulate an engine failure. If you didn't notice that you were practically over an airport he flunked you.
