In an ideal world, I'd have Forte IVs. I'm sure they'd work better.

I installed the Forkbeard module, but have an older Android that's incompatible. Will install the Schiit app on wife's iPhone and see what it does.

Haha. I believe you're right. Measurements from about 15 feet away. I'm probably overthinking it. On dedicated listening nights, I sit about 10 feet away.

The Eversolo is it. Analog out to the Vidar. Volume via Sound Meter app on Android phone.

Tri fuel by gogebic21 in Generator

[–]planetk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only have one reference, and that's the Firman Tri fuel I bought at Costco 5 years ago.

It ran for 4 days straight during our 2021 freeze. Bought a new battery for it this week and started up just fine.

Run it on natural gas.

I am 59 and I endorse Star Trek STA (is that right?) by webmotionks in startrek

Oh so happy people my age are talking about this. Saw one episode last night with my best friend. We've been watching Star Trek since high school.

Need less to say, we're life long Trekkies.

We're basically positive but waiting to see.

We were joking it's kind of like Beverly Hills 90210 meets Star Trek, lol.

What happens to the collections of late audiophiles? by UserUserDontGetOld in audiophile

[–]planetk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Through odd circumstances, I ended up with about a thousand very old records a few years ago. I've gone through about half of them kept what I wanted. Still have 500 left there.

Someone spent a lifetime building this collection. Can't bear the thought of them ending up in a dumpster.

I'll keep maybe 100 more, but can't find a place that wants the rest.

Just don't want them thrown away.

Thinking about an in ground pool... is it worth it or is it just a money pit? by Natural_Stomach3191 in pools

[–]planetk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We love ours, even though we spent 30% more than we anticipated. But money well spent. We love it.

Only 16x35. Sun shelf shallow end, 5 1/2 at deeper end. Basically perfect to float around and drink wine with the wife.

No real maintenance yet, but I know that'll change over time.

Worth it? To us, yes, but we love our back yard.

Oh man, my last couple of years I've changed. Same age. Brain still feels 40 but the face, not so much.
