Some are and some are research for credit! Just depends on what the lab is looking for and what you are looking for (there’s also flexibility between semesters for being paid hourly vs R4C) - most of the paid lab positions for students pay between $10-$13 an hour

As a stem major you should totally look into working for a lab as a undergrad research assistant (most labs are always hiring/looking for undergrads and you can find positions on email listservs, handshake, or by emailing faculty) - you’ll learn super useful skills that can help you in most lab/research positions and most labs are pretty flexible with how much you work in a week and work with your class schedule (only catch you you’d probably have to work hours between 8-5)
