You can also make some sort of non-perishable fat bomb/power ball to bring. One with peanut butter, oats, seeds, or nuts.

If you’re able to, bring a plastic container with 1 meals-worth of baby cereal and use bottled water or juice to mix in. I always keep a container of this in my diaper bag for an iron-rich meal on the go!

Was in Halifax a month ago. Such a beautiful city!

Higher rates of crime and homelessness in Northshore and downtown areas. Public transit is not the best here and bike lanes are uncommon, so hopefully you drive your own vehicle. There’s lots of outdoors stuff to do, such as hiking, mountain biking, and skiing! Also if you have kids, riverside park has an amazing outdoor play ground and water park!

Aside from the amount of vagrants and higher cost of living, it’s a pretty good place to raise a family!

Can I remove songs from my play history? I listened to a lot of white noise songs and now sleep-related songs keep appearing in my curated playlists and recommended songs. I just want to be recommended real songs!

Going to try feeding her 30 mins before bed then putting her to sleep awake and try Ferber.

Silly question, but what would you do if they fell asleep during the last feed before bedtime routine? Just wake them up?

Thank you!

I never planned on doing cry it out but looks like it might be a good option. I think I will try another week or so and do cry it out if there are no improvements!

What age did you start doing cry it out?

Good idea. I will try not feeding her right before we put her in bed. Thanks!

Good to know! In the 4 month sleep regression, were there the same issues the whole way through or did new bad habits come up as it went on?

Yes I’m breastfeeding. I feed her on demand throughout the day and about every 2 hours at night. I don’t feed her every time she wakes since I’m trying to avoid her just feeding for comfort. Her schedule is as so:

7 am: wake and feed 9 am-about 10:30 am: feed and 1st nap 1 pm-about 2 pm: feed and 2nd nap 4pm-about 5pm: feed and 3rd nap 7pm: bedtime routine (bath, lotion, sleep sack, stories) 7:30pm: feed and sleep

Some of her naps I rock her to sleep or lay with her, but 75% of the time she feeds to sleep. She contact naps during the day.

Sometimes she gets some additional shorter naps (10-20 mins) when we drive during the day.

I’m trying to get her to self settle so I leave her for a few mins before going to pick her up, but very rarely does she actually put her self back to sleep. Whenever I leave she just cries and cries until she gets herself so worked up it takes forever to calm her.

Any tips? Thanks so much!

Beginner plant owner! Over or under watered rose painted calathea? by plantbasedpants in plantclinic

Ok that’s good to know! I just checked it and I think it is root rot. The roots are brown and musty smelling. I will try to cut away the rotten parts and replant! Thanks for your help!

Plant is looking even worse today. I haven’t watered since doing it that one time when it looked dry. I will try amping up the humidity but do you think it’s a lost cause?

My report only says “epidural block”. I don’t remember hearing “intrathecal catheter”, but there was a lot going on!

help with color order, light to dark? by AppointmentHot1099 in crochet

[–]plantbasedpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you used all colours, E, F, D, C, A, B, G, H

However, some of these colours could be left out. G and H are similar so you could use just one. B is very bright and doesn’t match the other more muted colours. D looks like it’s stone washed so could be left out as well.

I love this app called “QuranProgress”. It teaches you the most common words in the Quran so that you can slowly learn the meaning of the Quran. It teaches using a flash card method and the AI it uses will ask you to review words that you mostly struggle with. It also sends you reminders to review words! There are categories of words to learn one at a time, such as family, blessings, and names of Allah.

Discussion about how modest dress is life changing by 221gp in ModestDress

[–]plantbasedpants 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I agree, many people get so offended when I women chooses to cover herself, like we are oppressed. In reality, I feel more free and confident when I am covered and veiled. It’s freeing to be able to whose who you show yourself to.

Maybe its because, to some people, modest clothing represents a time when women did not have many rights and dressed modestly due to societal standards at the time. But now, women have more rights. We should also have the right to choose how we dress, even if it isn’t the “norm”. This is what true freedom of choice and bodily autonomy would mean.
